Chimamanda and Toni Morrison are 2 authors whose work I love and whose interviews I enjoy watching. They are so honest and encourage honesty in story telling.
What I loved about Tonj Morrison's writing is she decentered the gaze of whiteness and white references and told our stories. With beauty, with intelligence, with pathos, nuance, spirituality, care, integrity and above all LOVE. My life became richer after encountering her work.
The Interviewer is equally brilliant, these two together are priceless to watch, a refreshing package of credit to the female gender and humans everywhere.
This is an excellent interview. Feels like a real conversation than an interview. I did have to really concentrate to find the question in what Sacha was saying - loved it on the whole.
Chimamanda to me is a jewel. Her power of speech, impeccable construction of phrases & her overall articulative deliverery leaves her audiences with clear & concise message as well as points of note in virtually all her conversations both written & verbal. She is no doubt gifted & she is putting that gift to great use. God blss her & her bby.
I share your philosophy Chimamanda....especially your aspiration of involving men and women in feminism...I as an African man I would add that for one who knows how it feels to be treated differently on account of colour I ought to make it my life's work to see that no other human is ever treated or ignored on act of gender, color , status, religion or sexual orientation especially under my watch... Therefore, on that account I sort of see myself as male feminist and like Martin Luther I dream of an involution where human beings realise that we are all humans and we deserve to be accorded the same treatment irrespective of our other accidents.
We are HUMAN BEINGS. As a white woman in the U.S. with a Ph.D., I have faced horrific discrimination in the family court system in the U.S. because my ex-husband is a better liar than I am. Civil Rights are for EVERYONE. I advocate for disability rights, but it is the same fight for all those who not are straight, white men. I AM A MOTHER. That does not matter. I lost my children to an abusive monster. The female judge has a documented history of sexism, as her bias for men is appalling. That we should all be judged by our character, unfortunately, is still a dream.

Beautiful Natural hair!!! Thank you for working and trying to change the stigma around black identity, Africanism, afro hair, skin color etc.. a very intelligent woman!
She wears it 'proudly'! Unlike many of her African and African American sister's in prominent positions globally. They continue to wear the weaves and wigs. She can step into any room; her hair tucked if in a more Corporate or Regal setting; totally Natural in a relaxed setting as for this interview. Absolutely Gorgeous!

One of the most important contribution is what the interviewer said about employers can talk about gender because they have daughters and wives. I will suggest that's one of the reasons gender equality is advancing faster than race equality. If I know an ideal will help improve my daughter or my wife's chances then I wouldn't mind giving up some of my previledge. This fact does not always apply to racism. It's this fact that's exercising racist people so much whenever they see White/Black relationships because they know with mixed relationships slowly but surely racial previledge will be extinct.
When chimamanda talked about hair one thing came to mind, and that’s hair on your body, your legs, your underarms, between your legs, letting it be natural has become a political statement when sometimes you’re just tired of constantly plucking it out. But letting your hair be is so emotionally exhausting in society that I remove it now just as not to have to talk about it or act as if you don’t see the looks
