You can say whatever you want about BMWs, but their powertrains are the best. Great transmission tuning, smooth engine characteristics. However, as you said, the steering feels very numb, especially compared to older Beamers
I couldn't agree with you more. My first BMW was a new, 2011 328 and I LOVED LOVED LOVED that steering. It was perfect. It was a lease so it went back. Bought a 2013 328xi and hated everything about the car. Had the suspension gutted and replaced with Dinan, but still wasn't impressed. Luckily BMW worked on their steering for my 2016 F25N55, but electronic steering will never be a good as hydraulic. I think that's what the difference is called?
Great car. I recently bought the '22 and have been driving it for a couple of months. It did bum me out that the fog lights are gone together with the wireless charger and a couple of other minor things but to be honest I dont really notice it after i received it and started driving. Its a luxury suv not a race car so with that in mind I think the steering and engine is just amazing. If i could change anything on my x5 I would go for the air suspension and stay with 20 inch wheels just because im from europe and the roads around new jersey / new york city are just horrible in comparison. Also, I can highly recommend the upgraded cruise control with lane assist. Finally BMW has both touch screen AND swivel wheel. Mercedes and Audi are touch screen only. I did not give it much credit but had the swivel wheel in an audi a4 and having it back is just amazing when navigating the screens while driving also not having to lean forward at all. I will totally buy BMW for as long they continue with swivel wheel and Audi and Mercedes does not.
Small Cons after driving for 5000 miles. The engine turns off automatically and the AC dies somewhat with it, in South Florida that's a problem. The lower tail gate button is positioned in such a way that when you load something you lean against the button and trigger it. Load it up and you are talking $80K. No need to run in sport. Plenty of power in comfort. Wife has a Macan S and this feels very similar. Nice car over all. But big money.
I think I read somewhere that if you go into sport mode and turn off stop start, then go back into comfort mode, the stop start will be inactive. Hope this helps.
I completely agree, just took delivery of a custom order X5 e and it awesome. Quick, responsive and My seats are massage too since I got the executive and M packages. Manhattan Green + Cognac
@@jpnyc66 -- I took a X3 M for a drive, back to back, with the X5 45e. I thought the X5 was better, in every single way. So strange to think that you can hoon in such a big floaty vehicle, but you can.
I tested this same vehicle last month and was blown away! Totally agree with you! Love that they put in the 389hp inline 6 instead of the 335hp model. Dramatic difference!
Most of those same features came standard in my 2018 Subaru Outback. I’m looking at an X3 and I hate having to pay extra for rear seat heaters in a $60k car. Still thinking about the value overall.
I’m heavily conflicted 😐 My husband and I can’t decide between the BMW X3 or the GENESIS GV70 or 80. BMW is actually on the more affordable side since we were able to negotiate.
Don’t really like the GV80 that much But GV70 I heard is a good vehicle. X3 is not exciting but there’s not really anything to complain about good all rounder and price so I would kind of lean towards X3. Genesis resale values typically tank after 3 years
@@MeynMotorGroup Alright, considering the Genesis GV70’s price markup on dealerships and resale value tanking after 3 year (how sure are you tho?)……hubby and I are leaning on BMW X3, BUT what do you predict the resale value is after 3 years for the X3?

Appreciate you calling out the sensatec seats as being uncomfortable. It’s a pet peeve of mine that more and more manufactures are making fake leather either standard or mandatory. No matter what they call it, it makes me sweaty after about 20 minutes and I wouldn’t buy a car with it. Of course you can option leather with the x5 but if you look at many of the mainstream EVs it’s pretty much nothing but fake leather. I wish everyone hadn’t followed Tesla down this rabbit hole. Ok, end of rant!
Yea you're so right about that real leather unfortunately will be a thing of the past I think. I know Polestar offers a real leather interior for like $4k as an option on their Polestar 2 but I think they're the only Electric car offering real leather seats. Maybe the new Benzes will have it too and that's about it
@@MeynMotorGroup yeah as of now you can get still get real leather on all the premium brand EVs. Id also be fine with a high quality cloth option (kinda like what they offer as an option in some range rovers ) but generally cloth is relegated to the most base models.
Just drove one yesterday, love almost everything about the car, but could never live with those seats. I take long trips every year and would be in a world of hurt after a very short time. Very disappointed, was hoping this would end my search.
I noticed the X5 in this RUclips review had orange/yellow turn signals in the rear. My 2022 X5 has red. How did you get the other color rear turn signals?
I have a new X5e as of yesterday and can confirm that wireless charging and touchscreen aren’t available due to supply chain issues. I had to sign off on the reimbursement. They also said that wireless charging has been problematic. It was in my X6, working slowly, randomly not working and overheated too

If that’s truly something you have to ask then you probably shouldn’t be looking into $70k vehicles this is for wealthy people that lease and dump every 3 years..they don’t worry about the long term because that’s not how you buy this
