  • Thanks for all the support guys!! If you'd like to see video of this machine running from different interior angles without dishes, you can view it here: • Whirlpool TotalCoverag...
    Accumulated enough dishes for a full load despite having a busy few days, so certain items like the plates with marinara sauce and ranch dip had been sitting a couple of days. The cycle was Normal with no options selected, so this is low water level/typical cycle behavior for a generally soiled load. I let the camera run until a good bit into the main wash after the detergent dispenser popped open, because I didn't want to chance overheating the camera itself.

    1. I'd've never expected that there are dishwashers releasing the detergent at the 22nd minute but on the other hand it is now clear to me that that most of the job, in any dishwasher, is done by the mechanical action of water
    2. Who would have ever thought that the detergent dispender popping up would attract so many viewers?

      @@Happyminion1 I'm so sorry to reply so late. This machine is a WDT920SADE, which I believe is no longer available, but many of the current models available through Whirlpool at the moment in the 700-900 model series are very similar to this machine. They're identical mechanically, but just offer slightly different features and cosmetic styling.

    I just recently bought this same unit. Love it, cleans everything perfectly and I don't pre rinse at all. Not a spec of food left behind so far! Just wondered how often you run yours and how often you clean the filter...

    • @kingofspades531
      @kingofspades531  7 лет назад +7

      That's great to hear!! I still absolutely love this machine. I've even gone so far as to deliberately baking sauce and cheese residues into baking dishes just to put them in this dishwasher, and even I'm surprised when they come out spotless. I never pre-rinse, only scrape food bits off, and typically I run a full load every 2-3 days and have yet to find anything more than a stray bit of spinach or something that gets wedged in a spot where it can't escape, which is rare, and also has happened to every dishwasher I've owned, even the PowerClean or old school KitchenAids. I haven't really had a need to clean the filter, but I check it every few months and sometimes just wash them just to give the machine an all over "clean slate", but the only thing that is ever in the filter is a speck or two that get wedged in the mesh. I've not yet had an actual "need" to clean the filter though.

      That's true but dishwashers replace manual strength with time. A continuous soft spray of hot water instead of a fast rubbing hand. Moreover the water can reach 90°C temperature, which will kill bacteria, a temperature that your hands wouldn't stand. Then there's the added bonus I can load the dishwasher and go to bed, forgetting about all that mess.

    One question...would you know why when you pull the upper rack out of the Whirlpool machine you used it offers a resistance and the flat water tube snaps against the back wall..is this normal?

    • @kingofspades531
      @kingofspades531  8 лет назад

      I've noticed that a few times, particularly if the top rack is pretty heavily loaded. If you look at the manifold at the back of the actual rack, it has these cone shaped guides, and the supply tube against the wall has notches that fit and help align the manifold to the supply. When there is more weight towards the front or back of the basket, it pushes up or down at that connection point, and can cause it to "stick". I've learned to just be gentle when pulling or pushing the rack in so it has time to line up, and I haven't had it snap at all since.

    • @jacquesmarjaq3173
      @jacquesmarjaq3173 8 лет назад

      Thank you. I had a repairman come in and fix it. For some reason that spring does not hold the supply line and it snaps against the wall when you pull the drawer outward.

    How do you find the performance of this unit so far? Also how quiet is it?

    • @kingofspades531
      @kingofspades531  8 лет назад +1

      I've had it since around mid-December 2015, and have yet to find anything disappointing about its performance. The one weakness I've noted so far is the same as just about every dishwasher I've used; if silverware gets bunched tightly together, there can be an occasional piece of food or grime that will be lodged between, but I've only run into that a few times when I didn't use the separators in the basket. I think the dedicated Silverware Basket spray bar helps with that a lot. As far as noise, it's honestly the quietest dishwasher I've ever been around. Unless you're sitting right in front of it, you can't tell its on. The only time I ever hear it operating is when it drains and you can hear the water gurgling down the sink drain, but otherwise, unless your house is dead quiet you won't even know it's running, and even then there's nothing but a near silent hum.

    • @phunkyx9773

      +kingofspades531 I've been watching a lot of 'inside the dishwasher' videos and this one has some of the best wash action I've seen on new machines. Strong spray, good coverage! I also meant to ask about the racks. Do they feel sturdy and glide smoothly?
      Thanks for the info, it's helping me in my decision on what to buy.

      +phunky x I like the racks, the lower is basically the same design Whirlpool has had for years, but the last row of tines will fold back or down, and the front two will widen for larger bowls and such. The top rack has a much more sturdy glide rail so it's quite stable even when full. My only minor complaint would be that the rack lifting system is self locking, so you only have to lift up on the rack to raise or lower it, and it locks to position. As convenient as that is, I'd rather have the levers to push, but regardless, I've not had any issue with it. I always keep it in the upper position and it is still stable and hasn't given any issue. And I'm glad I could help!!!

      Aqui no Brasil a Whirlpool é Brastemp e a qualidade das lava louças é inferior. Ótimo video, continue fazendo mais videos. Como vc faz a limpesa de sua lava louças? Eu tenho uma lava louças da Consul Facilite, que também é da Whirlpool.

      The heat, detergent (chemicals and enzymes), and pressure of the spray jets all work together.
