I think I would have used a first gen 3000GT as the donor since it has such a similar shape already, including functional door strakes that channel air to the rear wheels to vent the brakes. The Quadra design is basically a cross between a Testarossa and a first gen 3000GT.

The quadra VTech uses a very small 4.4L V10 engine, Wich the closest thing to that is the Lexus LFA 1LR-GUE V10 Wich is a 4.8L V10 that revs to 9500RPM. It's not an easy task to rev that high unless you use something like a 4AGE 20v, or K24 Wich don't sound as exotic. So that's basically leaves us with rotatories. And well the RX8 has got one. It's got a very unique and cool sound and revs ridiculously high

I came across a newer video of this build . So had to start off from the beginning. I hadn’t commented til now . I own a 87 Mazda rx7 . This build just got more awesome for me . 👊🏼🍻💯
It sucks your laws constrain you to keeping a powertrain and body from another vehicle. In some states in the US, you can do WHATEVER you want to your project cars.
@@Xtoxinlolinecronomicon If it were a real Renault (French) I'd say good engine and great suspension and rust won't be terrible but it's not! It's a former Rubbish USSR brand that just copied the Renault cars design in every way except quality, like when Skoda copied/ripped off FIAT and so on. It's a REAL/GENUINE piece of krapp. He'll be lucky to get 70HP from that thing. Didn't you see USSR printed on the engine in big bold letters?

So ya... that rotary engine will sound nice but plague him with problems, that's why I was disappointed. Better than the FAKE Renault but a problematic car for a modern car , hence my comment. Both are bad choices in my opinion but the Mazda is NOT the worst car by comparison and I stopped watching the videos after the reveal (but I did subscribe), I'll check back in a few months to the channel.
@@philipocallaghan No worries mate. About the mazda, he mentioned in the video he understands how the rotary functions and what to do and what not, so I think it's fine. The sound it will produce makes it well worth it.
Couldn't have picked a better donor car for the Quadra. The rotary is going to sound great.

Surely someone had a mid rear engined twin turbo V10 donor car lying around... Nah but that'd be amazing.

for your wheels look up to 3 piece wheels Like BBS has so you can cut the face on a CNC and bolt it to the barrels which you can buy.

In addition to this, it has awd with bias towards the rear wheels. The best donor for the car would probably be an Audi R8, but it is also expensive
