- Venice, Los Angeles - May 28, 2024: On Tuesday, the newly formed Coastal Care+ task force conducted a comprehensive cleanup of homeless encampments at various locations throughout Venice. This coordinated effort involved multiple agencies, including the LAPD, the Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and the office of Councilwoman Traci Park's Homelessness and Housing Coordinator.
Los Angeles Police officers ensured compliance and security for the sanitation workers during the operation.
Team members, equipped with protective gear, meticulously managed the segregation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The support from Public Works and Clean Harbors was crucial in handling the diverse types of waste encountered.
LAHSA provided essential support services, distributing food, water, and hygiene kits to those displaced by the cleanup. This initiative is part of the city's ongoing strategy to address homelessness while enhancing public health and safety standards in community spaces.'

It’s an absolute must that they put laws into place that homeless addicts and alcoholics must be in government housing with controls put in place. Get drugs off the streets. Arrest dealers!
Out of all the solutions I've heard to this problem, you have the best one❤
Cali has too many ways for homeless $$$ to go missing, so very few actual homeless housing.
It keeps on going with the homeless camping where ever they feel like it never ends.
nice not seeing a screaming daisy
Thank you to all of those workers!
25-30 bucks an hour. Lots of standing around(typical state/govt job). You can transfer to different locations. All you need is a little common sense. I would recommend it to anyone that isn't sure what they want to do and wants to contribute to society. If anything, it's a great stepping stone within state/city.govt. work.
The Asian girl must be a New hire? Looks like she's lost😮
She"S doing good leave her alone. She"S making a pay check........
She’s a hard worker and fast.
No money for a home but money for dugs 😞
Just amazed at how many people have become homeless. I would like to see what is available to help people out of this situation? Instead of sweeping it away.
I think the bigger problem is drug/alcohol addiction and mental illness. Many don't want to stay in the shelters because the shelters have rules, like no drugs or alcohol.
@user-lp1jw9bo5y These aren't the illegal immigrants that crossed the border, they get hotel rooms, food, and medical care. It's the American citizens, including veterans who are sleeping on the street.
The help is there but the street people do not like the rules
It really is amazing how much stuff they accumulate that they think is important. Do they go through people’s trash?
Good morning my beautiful family ❤️
Is this all being coordinated because of the Venice Canal attacks? Because if it is ,this is like putting a band aid on something too late. And besides,i dont think the Venice Canal attacker was homeless ..he looked like a college kid or something .( In footage on the news that they showed of him.)
Bums are now big business...gravy train 2024..
Fine…keep the streets clean and tent free
I bet the residents who work are sick of this........
That giant silver thing looks like a diffuser/reflector used for photography.
On top of the trash truck, it says NEW WAY, it's the new way clean it up Cali
Did they just take down a Thrift store!
What squalor.
What utter disrespect.
Not a nation to visit, thank you.
It’s not like that everywhere. Surely you realize that.
Where's the office chair? There's always at least one...
Lots of LAPD corporals on homeless duty. $200k+/yr. for light duty.
Every crew needs at least two females to stand around and do almost nothing.
At caltrams...they just lean on shovels.
I think GAVIN with the hair should put these people on a manmade island and let them camp there .....
We want clean sidewalks and streets to be safe.......
Your tax dollars at work

Stealing it, going through trash
Its baffling to see the county of Los Angeles to start sweeping the lawlessness when the elections are near but during the initial years the democrats allowed all of the chaos insue.
At least they are clearing the streets
