Radium, Livermorium, and the Quest for Heavier Elements

In honor of the Livermore Reads Together featured book, "The Radium Girls," Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Nuclear Chemist Dawn Shaughnessy, Ph.D., discussed the heavy elements that make up our world, such as element 88 (radium), and scientists' efforts to create even heavier elements, using high-energy particle accelerators.
