Even if the inheritance was given out before they divorced, Jared would still not have rights to the money. Everyone knows full well that inheritance is not a marital asset.
As long as she didn't put the inheritance money in their joint account. At that point it would become a marital asset and he could get some of it in a divorce.

Depends on country, some countries don't need a court, they can just hand in papers, in UK you need a judge
