justin simmons No. I just don't know what is wrong about liking an artist after he got "mainstream". I always see this kind of comments under his videos where people say "everyone who didn't know him before this and that should fuck off". I just don't get it.
i loved Donald Glover when he was in Derrick Comedy and i'll admit that when i first heard him rap i was kinda like ehhhh a really good actor and comedian rapping? didnt feel right but you listen to a few more songs and really pay attention to his lyrics and he's my favorite musician now. he's also my hero i wish that i have at least a quarter of his comedy success one day.
@litavanegas12 its called being nervous. how about you try being recorded by 2 or 3 cameras in your face while someone puts you on the spot, and asking semi personal questions. guarantee you'll have a nervous tick as well.
is there anything guy hasnt done? i dont myself jealous of people too often, if at all, but it just amazes me how much this guy has accomplished being only 28. he was already a writer on the daily show in 2005 while he was still only a junior in college at nyu. pretty crazy.
I really love him! He just kicks so much ass. He's so funny and talented and cool! I can't wait for his album Camp to come out next Tuesday! He just released the Bonfire video and it's nuts! Check it out!
The new album it crazy dope, like a mix of Eminem and Kanye from their first albums. "Jay & Ye said to watch that, They asked me what I'm doing? And I said I'm stealing Rock back!" that line murdered that track alone (If you get what he meant). P.S. James Franco is the White Donald Glover fyi.
@FirstandFifeteen I understand what your saying...I was thinking about it a little more and I think musicians in general kinda live forever in adolescence. I mean that might be part of the appeal of living the proverbial "rock star" life.
I kinda felt the same way, but after listening to Royalty a couple times, I learned that this is CG's natural progression. Camp showed his pain, and Royalty showed his success. But I do agree that an artist has to be somewhat tormented to make good music. Cause swag rap is very one-dimensional (money, woman, drugs, alcohol, etc.) while Camp was a lot more personable and I for one could relate more to it compared to Royalty. That doesn't take anything away from Royalty though.
So what's the point of continuing to censor the song even when they're talking? They could've just played the instrumental or something. Oh and they let "shit" slip at 0:58
@litavanegas12 when he was 21 he was writing scripts for 30 rock, ur writing comments on youtube, i think he has the luxury to say like a lot if he feels like it
Degree in Dramatic Writing from Tisch. Successful actor on a television show on NBC. A musician playing huge gigs (such as SXSW), and getting MTV notoriety. A comedian with a special on Comedy Central. The black guy from Bro-Rape. Donald, just run for president already.......
He's the only Jehovah's Witness allowed to knock on my door.
+Stephanie Yamoah RIGHT!
+Stephanie Yamoah and Prince
DAYUMN
"I'm chillin' with this Asian chick I met in Chicago"
SWAG
S= Singer
W= Writer
A= Actor
G= Gambino.
3005 was my favorite song and "weirdo" was my favorite stand up but I had no idea at the time that Donald glover was Childish Gambino
Of course your favorite song is 3005 and you didn't know he was Donald glover.. because your a bandwagoner
justin simmons Isn't he allowed to like his music? He didn't describe himself as a hardcore fan or something

Mak keda
justin simmons No. I just don't know what is wrong about liking an artist after he got "mainstream". I always see this kind of comments under his videos where people say "everyone who didn't know him before this and that should fuck off". I just don't get it.
Jehovah's most amazing witness
i loved Donald Glover when he was in Derrick Comedy and i'll admit that when i first heard him rap i was kinda like ehhhh a really good actor and comedian rapping? didnt feel right but you listen to a few more songs and really pay attention to his lyrics and he's my favorite musician now. he's also my hero i wish that i have at least a quarter of his comedy success one day.

That cell phone video at 1:42 is mine!
@sgps You are correct.. he is dropping his first album on iTunes called Camp later this month, I can't wait for it!
@litavanegas12 its called being nervous. how about you try being recorded by 2 or 3 cameras in your face while someone puts you on the spot, and asking semi personal questions. guarantee you'll have a nervous tick as well.
Truly Inspirational.
Donald Glover is the type of person who is there to set a precedent for individualism.
"Being up at 3:00 A.M" is true dedication.
2:48 He self released more than three albums
I am Just a Rapper, I am Just a Rapper 2, Culdesac, Poindexter, Sick Boi, and EP.
This looks way to old to be 2011
Rap with meaning, actual vocal talent, real instruments, - forever changing the rap game.
DG, you are tight as hell man
is there anything guy hasnt done? i dont myself jealous of people too often, if at all, but it just amazes me how much this guy has accomplished being only 28. he was already a writer on the daily show in 2005 while he was still only a junior in college at nyu. pretty crazy.
He looks soo much older with a beard.
Met him the other night after I AM DONALD in Baltimore. Literally the nicest, most genuine dude. He is my role model.
Derrick Comedy, his own movie: Mystery Team, The Daily Show writer, 30 rock writer, Community, stand-up comic, and a rapper.
I really love him! He just kicks so much ass. He's so funny and talented and cool! I can't wait for his album Camp to come out next Tuesday! He just released the Bonfire video and it's nuts! Check it out!
This aged so well
Lights Turned On, by the one and only, Childish gambino.
this guy deserves more than an interview on a park bench with imovie transitions between random pictures
It's so hard to focus on Donald talking because I can't stop rocking out to Lights Turned On
if only we had another childish gambino
fr
royalty is a great mixtape but imo culdesac is the classic
@Good4josh LMAO!That was one of the parts of the interview!!!!
Donald Glover has the most incredibly successful career
rapper
comedian
writer on 30 rock
Actor on Community
It's quite extraordinary
The new album it crazy dope, like a mix of Eminem and Kanye from their first albums.
"Jay & Ye said to watch that, They asked me what I'm doing?
And I said I'm stealing Rock back!" that line murdered that track alone (If you get what he meant).
P.S. James Franco is the White Donald Glover fyi.
@guitarspring lights turned on, its the song in the intro too
@FirstandFifeteen I understand what your saying...I was thinking about it a little more and I think musicians in general kinda live forever in adolescence. I mean that might be part of the appeal of living the proverbial "rock star" life.
Only people who are closeted gays wont admit that they have a man crush on you. Every man has a man crush on Donald Glover.
The last thing he said was really real.
He kinda looks like Marvin Gaye in this interview
Are there Asian girls here? MINORITY REPORT!
@KigerPWN he called him out to be a part of the cipher, not as a diss or anything
Yes I agree with xma456.. Truly a hero - one everyone can appreciate
he actually has 2 albums: sick boi and culdesac
and 3 mixtapes: i am just a rapper 1 and 2, and ep
i think?
i love his passion:)every one should have passion no matter what kind of:)
Am I the only one that found it funny that an asian chick was Gambino's interviewer???
@sgps well EP is just an EP not a full mixtape, but yeah you're right
I couldn't believe his age. Cuz when he has a clean shave he looks 19. lol. I love this man tho.
That doesn't take anything away from Royalty though.
of course hes a great rapper, hes already a great writer. so rap was a great move for him. dudes dope
You sir.. are my role model
he has definitely released more than 3 albums
So what's the point of continuing to censor the song even when they're talking? They could've just played the instrumental or something.
Oh and they let "shit" slip at 0:58
Had the same qeustion, so thank you sir :)
I did a shot every time he said "like." Somebody tell me how the video ends, 'cause I love the guy anyway, filler or not.

i'm amazed at this guy's talent.
I find him extremely attractive with or without a beard.
He's by far my favorite rapper
count how many times he says 'like' in this interview.
Donald, just run for president already.......
i'm amazed at this guy's talents.
Childish Gambino vs. Bo Burnham
@XTRAGOODKID "Lights Turned On" off his album entitled "EP"
Oh, thanks man :)
They say that he's self-released three albums, and then show the coverart for only one of them.
Fail ABC News. Fail.
He sounds like such an American (in the international community sense), but he is a bossy American.
he said like so many times O-O but i still love him :)
@Chewy123450
Lights turned on. it was the fourth song on his EP
That right there is a genuinely good person.
No he actually grew up one... he isn't one anymore but he was, and it's Jehovah's*.
I should watch this and take a drink every time he says "like". That drinking game might have you wasted. I still love him so much tho.
FUCK! you made me conscious of it now I'm gonna hear him say "Like" every time.
@TheECMusic Lights Turned On.
from 0:00-2:00 he tries to act like a tough black dude...from 2:00-ON he reverts back to nerdy black kid
can somebody list ALL of his music for me please.
Oh, he is beautiful. You can see talent all over his eyes. And lips. Uh huh.
love that song

@SirHcDWC Those "86-now currently 92" likes are in response to the fact the reporter interviewing him is Asian. We know the lyrics, dude.

I think he says "like" more times than this video is "liked".
@nathanw65 86 likes on the wrong lyric.. "Are there Asian girls here, minority report"
@rhymegarden I THOUGHT THE EXACT SAME THING!! Honestly, shaved or scruffy he looks 22 at the most.
