I’m currently using this case on my iPhone XS Max. While it is way too bulky, I’d rather have this big bulky case for its superior protection. I tend to drop my phone quite a bit, and this case has saved it from some pretty brutal drops & falls.
For those concerned about the tempered glass, the alpha glass from otter box works perfectly with this case! I have one for mine and haven’t had a single issue with it.

This otterbox has its purpose especially if you’re in the military or similar and doing a lot of field work. I used the otterbox for both my iPhone 6 and 7 both with the silicone sleeve that slipped over the hard plastic that was notorious for stretching, that what was turned me off from using otterbox altogether. Also the belt clip always broke on mine.
Your making a pretty good point but if i am spending over 1,000$ on a phone then i want to get a bulky case because i dont really care about style i just care about the protection

This case has really good grip better than previous defender cases I have tried It does still have a slight air gap with the built in screen protector but from what I can tell it was slightly changed to fit better with the iphone 8. I know this video is for the iphone x version but this pro version is new so not much info on iphone 7/8 versions.
I picked one of these up at Best Buy for my XS Max. Best otterbox I’ve ever had for an iPhone, and I’ve had tons. It has much better grip, tighter fit, better look also. I returned the regular defender and kept the Pro.

It’s expensive I can get the older defender for about $30 cheeper but I like the pro because I think it has more grip which is always a welcome in my opinion. I have heard people say they really like the feel of the pro. Only thing stopping in the bulk. Do you think it’s just something you get use to after a while?
Looks like the screen wouldn't actually make contact with the ground if you dropped the phone, since the screen itself is still somewhat enclosed within the plastic. Am I right?
Looks very protective. The tempered glass issue would be a problem for me, also the thickness of the case would make for a phone that wouldn’t be very pocketable . Great review and walkthrough of this particular case and I’m sure this would work for many people.

Sorry but the Zizo Bolt series case looks 1000x better then Otterbox, offers just as amazing protection, includes belt clip & tempered glass screen protector, oh yeah and the best of all is it cost only $17.99 on Amazon. Check that case out before spending $50+ on a Otterbox.
This case is really good but it’s just sooooo massive for the Xs Max, it makes my phone feel like a tablet 😅 can’t risk breaking a 1000$ phone though 😂
Despite the breadth of cases on the market, this is absolutely THE ONLY CHOICE for couriers and the like. Sad that no one else makes a case that PROTECTS. Literally no one. Even their own child company, LifeProof, makes utterly garbage cases that are in no way suited to ever be dropped.

My phone is so protected now. I didn’t care that it didn’t have the screen protecter built in because I already had a glass one on. I love it!

$75 dollars for a damn case, which is essentially less than 100 grams of plastic is too damn expensive. I really want this one, but the price is TGH.
