I grew up in Indianapolis and was in the 6th Grade when we got the Pacers. Every night that they played, I would listen to their games on the radio. Those were wonderful days! I miss the ABA! It was a great league and far more exciting than the NBA. The Pacer teams that won those championships were tremendous teams.
it all seems like yesterday. for a kid in Indiana these players and the 500 drivers were absolutely God like. I wouldn't have wanted to grow up anywhere else. Thanks for the video, ..tears of joy!
If Roger Brown was your dad, let me just say he was awesome. Known as the best 1 on 1 player in the ABA. He always killed my Kentucky Colonels. Great swingman at either guard or forward!
Was a big net fan..never missed when pacers came to longisland. Great teams...would love to have seen them play the Knicks in 70 with McGinnis .Brown Daniel's vs. REED BRADLEY AND DEBUSSURE
Hi Roger JR. First time I have come across your UTUBE Page on your the ABA Pacers. The sentiment from the viewers never changes. How the ABA and those Pacers, your Dad, hold such memories for us down right down to our soul. Hope you are well!
I never knew that much about Roger Brown before, but this footage depicts his greatness and his ability in my opinion to hold his own. With Zeke, the big O, Clyde the Pearl or any of them.
As much as I love this video series, when you see the part of the telethon at the 5:30 mark, you must realize that, that is one Nancy Leonard, the first lady of Indiana Pacers basketball. This great lady was the defacto behind the scenes leader of the team, but because of the times, she was NEVER really given the true credit for all the things that she did, and that she absolutely deserves...........
Many fans today have never heard of these great players. Roger Brown, Mel Daniels, Freddie Lewis, George McGinnis, Darnell Hillman and Billy Knight would be awesome in today's NBA...
I can't get enough of old ABA videos. Greatest professional league ever. And the ABA Pacers the best organization of that time period, aside from the UCLA Bruins. And I was fortunate growing up in sou during the time
... growing up in southern Indiana at the time. Indiana Hoosier basketball, Pacers, and the Red's Big Red Machine. And there wasn't an ABA team that didn't catch my imagination and respect.
Mr. Brown just came across your page. I immediately joined your channel. Thank you so much for posting this of your Father I actually created him on my video game to be included on the all-time Pacers on NBA 2k20. How can the greatest Pacer ever not be on the all-time Pacers on a video game? Thanks for sharing all that you have and I look forward to watching all of the content you have posted.
I think the next players for the Pacers who need to have their numbers retired are #11 Billy Keller and #20 Darnell "Dr. Dunk" Hillman, these are 2 of my all time favorite Indiana Pacers ABA heroes.........
I remember when Mike Storen ( General Manager ) asked Oscar Robertson who he should pick to play for the Pacers, he said Roger Brown & Freddie Lewis. If not for the Big O, Roger would probably never have gotten a chance to play.
What year did this come out Roger? 1987? It's fantastic. Roger my mom worked at the Marriott on 21st and Shadeland in 1974. she worked with your Stepmother? Jennie Brown as a waitress.
Thanks for posting this video. Your father was a great player and, as an original ABA fan, I was truly sorry to learn of his passing. I hope that he will eventually be enshrined in the Pro basketball Hall of Fame, where he belongs. I have one question: The segment of your video (from 5:07 to 5:30) shows games played with the traditional brown ball. These could not have been ABA regular season or playoff games. Were they pre-season that first year, before the official ABA balls arrived??
Anyone know why Billy Keller never played in the NBA? His last year in the ABA, he led the ABA in 3 pointers made. The next season the Pacers merged with the NBA, but Keller was not on the team. Why not?
Really great ballin. Mr Brown, you held it down sir! ✊🏿

I love that the Pacers have kept Quin around

RIP George McGinnis!❤
If George would have Stopped smoking , he'd have played another 5 years
The real Indiana Pacers!!!
Most people don't remember is that the Pacers were the most doninant team un the ABA. They were the Celtics of that league.
Thank you for preserving and posting this. Any chance you can post Undefeated as well or would that earn you a copyright strike?

To these day, ABA era of Pacers is the only champions team ever been and of course during 70s ABA was on par with NBA rings nor way superior to NBA !

i did + hate hate almost every pacers member ever period
