My wife Renee ,wanted me to let you know, that the otters are her favorite animal at the zoo. And that she could sit there for hours watching them. Thank you greatly for sharing your time to share with us all..
I remember living in Australia for a while in grade three and beside the school I attended there was a bakery that I went to at lunch time and most days I had the kangaroo meat pies or the kangaroo sausage rolls! lol🦘
Aww Right! You found the Otters! Thanks for the tutorial on how to gesture sketch a Kangaroo. Much appreciate You using a pencil in instructions. I enjoyed the trip to the Zoo . Alvin, thanks for sharing.🙂
Your otter otter come live with me! 😝he'll have lots of fun watching the otters in the canal 🤣 u managed to sketch them!! that's a feat considering how fast they can move (there's a film crew that's constantly running up and down the canal trying to catch them in action). Thanks for the real time footage! Love that kanga sketch! 😍
Haha! I've placed your name in the basket for my friend to pick! Yes, I think I saw an episode of that. The trick is to sketch them at the zoo - enclosed :D
Great sketches Alvin! I enjoy watching your real time drawings. I've had my eye on those Derwent Drawing pencils and that Chocolate color is really nice. It looks like it doesn't smudge alot and you got a killer point on it!
Thanks for letting me know. It's been awhile since I've used them, so I got a couple to use on my sketching journeys. Yes, apparently, the chelate one doesn't smudge.
@@AlvinMarkArt I thought your idea of doing it a speed up but with a real time piece inserted, that was interesting to watch. But I would allow that people short of time might not warm to that compromise. I expect your view counts show the situation clearly after the first few trial videos, and after you added the phrase "real time" into the title. Let's just say I appreciate your videos the way you're making them and want you to know that. Also when you switched into gouache as a water based oils type medium, I thought those were great too. Much appreciated!
Thank you for this. I’ve been investing more time into the videos. 3 days per episode which makes me think I should keep it to 1 episode a week. I’m trying all sorts of things now to figure out what people like. Real-time has been a pet-peeve of mine, who would watch it, right? 😅 but many love it apparently. I fall asleep while editing videos with real-time esp when I’ve to go over it over and over again. 😁🤭 so maybe just the super quick 5 min sketches. Appreciate your feedback always!
The otters are definitely around. We have families moving around in our tight little city - canals and parks. But yes, difficult to spot them. So I always get to sketch them at the zoo.
My kids will be back in school this Fall, and we have a zoo pass. Maybe I'll go on my own and try to draw some of the animals, too! Thank you for sharing your process.

Sketching real-life animals is so awarding!

LOL… I’m not sure if I had those before 😀 at least you know that your meal has carotene in it.

Love the real time sketches, and the zoo! 😀
Glad you like them! :D
Otters are cute! The tree kangaroo’s faces look lots like the North American black bears. They climb trees, too.
Haha! Oh wow! Thank you for sharing that. Will google them! :)

The Zoo has always got interesting things to draw. Nice sketches. And thx for the real time segment.
I’ll try to arrange a trip with my students to practice different shapes. Good lesson in construction.

Nice sketches. We have river Otters and even some sea going ones in British Columbia but they are not easy to find. Enjoyable video.

An otter! I have a kangaroo he can sit next to, too
Haha! That'd be perfect! Got your name in the basket :)
Love watching real time pencil sketching. What kind on pencil are you using? The lead looks super thick.
