NOTE: I re-uploaded this because I'm a complete idiot and made TWO, count 'em TWO typos in the video. Seriously, I had one job to do. Like, how did I manage to drop the ball so badly? Maybe I was just too damn excited to get this video out to make all you internet weirdos happy... so, I hope you're happy. I'm not... I might never be happy again.
"A radio drama? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely on your RUclips channel?"
All kidding aside, loved this! I've listened to the entirety of several old radio shows (my favorite being Dimension X) and this does capture that feeling well.
Thanks. Radio plays are great… maybe it’s time they make a comeback.
@@TyroneDeise For a time there was an AM radio channel I could pick up while driving home from college that ran radio dramas of the twilight zone which were really good. Unfortunately it eventually got taken over by talk radio
@@jarnaez1 that must’ve been awesome… too bad everything always gets ruined. I’m not looking forward to when all media is replaced with vertical videos of people reacting to other reaction videos.
@@TyroneDeiseMe nightrider
Well Tyrone, you're an odd fellow, but I must say, you make a good steamed hams parody.
👍
Ladies and Gentlemen, this was merely a radio broadcast. None of the events in this broadcast actually transpired...
can’t wait for the next video to be ‘Steamed Hams but it’s a gen-Z RUclipsr streaming a playthrough of an almost-forgotten late-1990s CRPG “Steamed Hams”’ and for you to create an entire mini-CRPG for that one video
I like the layers… and the amount of time and resources it would require.
Streamed H.A.M.Z.
Steamed Hams, but it’s a Zoomer acting like an NPC.
@EVP5309 gang gang ice cream so good

"Brought to you by Mr. Sparkle" With Japan being pre-war? I need some premium answer-question

@@nthgth Let's just say the company ran into some VERY hot water after Pearl Harbor.
Skinner is a WWI veteran here, rather than Vietnam, so Mr. Sparkle was probably still a US company, run by their founder Stanislav Sparklewicz.
Like the best radio play adaptations do, this expands and enhances the story of Steamed Hams.
With any luck, the recording with Orson Welles playing Skinner and Jack Benny as Chalmers will someday be found.
Yes, the version where an inebriated Orson Welles gets into a confrontation with the French Maître D’
Seems like Orson should play Chalmers and Jack Benny Skinner.
All the extra details created a sense of anticipation, like "oooh, they're about to say THAT LINE"-which probably would do nothing for this story if we didn't all have the original memorized or nearly memorized, but for the target audience, it's absolutely brilliant!
The only thing missing is a Mr Sparkle jingles sung by a trio lively gals.
Yeah, maybe I can make an extended version like that. See if I can pad it out to a full 30 minutes.
~~Mis-ter Spaaar-kle~~
I'm disrespectful to dirt!
Can you accept the Mr. Sparkle challenge?
~~banishing dirt to the land of wind and ghosts... it's mis-ter spaaar-kle•~
Something like that
Man ruins his roast and has war flashbacks 😭
My personal favorite was the 2 minute flashback to the "Great War" and its perils. Outstanding job!
*And it's brought to you by Mr. Sparkle. Disrespectful to dirt.*
“May I see it?”
“No. It’s on the radio.”

Steamed hams and Nuka Cola are the perfect combination.
Steamed hams but it's a New Vegas mod.
A fresh take on a the meme wile simultaneously harkening back to an older tradition of story telling in an authentic way. Above and beyond, excellent video.
This could've just been audio from the actual video with grain effects, but you took it to a whole other level, like always. You nailed the fundamentals of a radio show; characters making detailed descriptions of their environments for the sake of helping listeners picture what is actually happening. I'm stating the obvious but, hey, what can you do?
Agreed
The title card is underrated, they really understand their inspirations.
I tuned into this broadcast while motoring from Albany to Utica. It is a fine production. Thank you!
What a cultured person
I just saw the Soviet one the other day then just now saw the expressionist one, and this just came up on my recommended, and I just realise they’re all made by the same guy! Absolutely amazing!
Steamed Hams with extra plot. Also I would love to see “Steamed Hams but its a 1940s wartime cartoon”
There was a second war flashback that I cut out.
@@TyroneDeise I see
In this version Skinner's mom is directly responsible for him leaving the oven on too long and ruining his roast. Plus Chalmers thinking her decoration is stupid. Talk about adaptational villainy! The expansion of the 1930s springfield restaurant lore is a delightful touch.
This is art! I love creators who goes all the way with their video creations contrary to the typical editing standard on RUclips. For the algorithm!
It isn’t a lukewarm damp ham… it’s a steamed ham! Gotta put in the effort. That’s what my grandpappy taught me.
Well, Tyrone, I made it... despite your reupload.
This is so brilliantly executed! I'm willing to bet that this could stand alone and be entertaining even without any prior knowledge of the original scene.
Thanks.
I love the added bits and pieces to fill out the story it fits so well
You are the god of steamed hams parodies, keep it up
OK, I'll re-engage to help the metrics. I hadn't noticed your previous errors. As I said before, you are on the Mt. Olympus of Steamed Hams memers. But, as we know the Greek Gods were fallible, lol.
Can I be Hermes? He has a cool hat and the Caduceus, which people use incorrectly as the symbol of medicine... probably because it looks more badass than the Rod of Asclepius. I get it, two snakes are cooler than one! Where was I? Yes, thanks for the comment. :D
@@TyroneDeise Be Hermes, if you please. (is that a lyric by Cole Porter? I dunno)
Next up, steamed hams in hieroglyphs.
I like the way you think.
I wrote the entire script of steamed hams and put it in a translator just for it to not let me submit the hieroglyphics 😮💨
A career could be made from steamed hams. THESE ARE THE BEST VIDS ON THE RUclips!!!
I honestly adore this. The extra dialog and narration adds so much to the story, giving much more context and emotion. To that, I say Bravo!
Dude... this is genuine art
Your work is Seriously Impressive
It Captures the Media From Diffrent time Periods Very well
i wounder what comes next
Next up is something a little more contemporary.
@@TyroneDeise You certainly delivered
This video shows what's missing in today's entertainment: down-to-earthness, wholesomeness and a pleasant narrative pace that doesn't throw dozens of things at you at once. Give us back the days of old. This world we live in is horrible.
Don't waste your talent exclusively on Steamed Hams. You are crazy good.
Thanks. I have all sorts of original stuff in the pipeline… but it doesn’t hurt to steam the odd ham.

That's an interesting twist.
I love the writing so much ❤ it's amazing how well you can remake Steamed Hams into old timey piece of media. Whether it's live action or an abstract art like the banned USSR one.
As others have already requested, I'd like to see you remake Steamed Hams into a 1940'z wartime cartoon or a Tezuka Cartoon-- maybe even trying to remake Steamed Hams as if it's an episode of Doraemon, or whatever Fujiko F Fujio had made. Since that man has a distinct and memorable artstyle that stood out from most of the Japanese animation I've watched.
This must have been a huge effort to get this almost like a 1950s Radio drama.
Skinner sounds like Clancy Brown doing an Obama impression.
This is the most creative and entertaining take on the steam hams meme I've encountered.
You should make steamed hams as a 1950's twighlight zone episode
Yes
This time, it really IS aurora borealis localized entirely within Skinner’s kitchen!
You absolutely nailed the voice!

The deep lore.
These are always so incredible
The radio adaptation always adds these extra little details.
"Mr. Sparkle? From those sandal-wearing goldfish tenders?!" - Mr. Burns in high school listening to the original broadcast of this radio drama.

Ah a classic rerun of that play! This truly was unforgettable as promised. im excited for next weeks episode: Skinner and the superintendent in "The principal and the pauper". Ah that classic Skinner. how he bravely served our country. I hope next weeks episode is able to touch his positive contributions to the war effort!
Pretty good, but it should have occasional organ music in the background.
The contrived anti-war propaganda hit me like an artillery shell. The bonus scenes were cool too
You are doing the lord’s work
another banger, damn u are on another level
Apparently Gary Chalmers is going by "Glen" in 1932.
"Seymour! The house is on fire!"
"No Mother; it's just Martians invading Earth."
This channel is the chefs kiss of hammed steams.
Fun concept, great writing and excellent acting!
Skinner is voiced by Michael Dorn. He was 3 years old at the time and halfway through puberty.
4:00 Seymour getting a Vietnam flashback as the smell of burned flesh made him relive the horrors of war all over in his mind again for a full minute, really made me lose it.
But at the same time, it complies with the lore of Skinners character & the realism of sudden PTSD trigger attacks.
Also the eloquent & sophisticated way of talking, makes this really seem like a travel back in time. I may not have been alive back then, but I know enough about history to attest to this fact.
And the embellished conversations, learning about Skinner's allergy to Clams & Chalmers complaining that he barely touched his food after Seymour wants to end the luncheon & him explaining the physical concept of Aurora Borealis to Chalmers really made this an utter masterpiece, at least for me.
You should do a theathrical play, based off this script next.
Perhaps Shakespeares "Steamed Hamlet" would really work great.
"To Steam or not to steam...that is the question..."

Vietnam...? It's the 30's, wrong war 😅
I didn't think I would get in to the story of Steamed Hams all over again!
Also, out of interest, as someone who makes music and enjoys sound design, how did you get this lovely 1930's radio effect?
I used various static and hum samples as a base (downloaded from freesound.org) and a few Final Cut Pro audio plugins... I think it was vintage speaker & walkie-talkie, along with some EQ and compression.
@@TyroneDeise Wow, thanks for the quick reply! I've been after this kind of effect for a while. I'll definitely have to check those out, You did a great job of replicating the old sound.

You may not have heard, but back when this first aired a lot of people ran to Skinner's kitchen to try to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. They thought it was a news broadcast!

Not only is this brilliant and great, but it has me realize that the main plot of Steamed Hams in general was also used in an episode of Fawlty Towers.
