I must say, the saddle fitter did an excellent job. She explained things really well. I feel, from what I learned watching your video, that I could improve my horses comfort levels by being more aware of the hollow spots or pressure points. Thank you for sharing!
Same! This video helped me a lot too! I've got a thick mutton-withered short backed QH gelding who has been getting a little crabby with saddling and I'm pretty sure it has to do with pad to saddle fit. This video really explain a ton of things for me to look out for also! Super helpful!!
Sway backs can be tough. I'd find a saddle fitter in your area to help you. You may pay more for a saddle, pad and all the stuff you need but worth it.
Heck I see what you mean. The fitters I found are also English. There is a western option for custom fit saddles where you measure your own and then they make it for you. I know several people who have truth saddles and love them. g.co/kgs/gcWxtb The other way I found one, was just call or email every saddle shop you can find within range until you find someone to help you. There are people who are very good, but don't advertise.
I no longer have this horse, but the saddle is great for low withered qh types. You can call horseman's supply and take your horse up there for a custom fit. I highly recomend.

Thank you.
I really appreciate a good saddle fitter.

You have a lovely voice!❤
Thank you so much.
What brand and gullet on that barrel saddle?
How thick is your SPH pad and is that saddle a Fort Worth saddle - if so what series did you go with?
SPH is about 2 inches.
I went with a 14 inch barrel saddle with Medium gullet.
It fits most wilde, low withered horses.
@@lonestarwoman I have the same problem my horse, what gullet did you end up getting and tree size?
I went with a medium gullet, not the wide. Works well on most.
@@kaylawright8392 I need that same pad you got under the saddle!!! Where can i find/buy it!??
I’m having problems saddling an 8 year old sway backed paint. What would you recommend?
Sway backs can be tough.

@@lonestarwoman I would do that but the closest one is in Alabama and I’m in central Louisiana. Maybe I can figure something out.

This is near me, has this saddle worked well for the horse?
I no longer have this horse, but the saddle is great for low withered qh types.

How heavy is this saddle please?
I would call it a lighter saddle compared to others. About 15 pounds.
It has become my favorite saddle. It fits wider withered horses very well.
What breed is pepper?
Registered American Quarter Horse.
Howdy! How many hands was Pepper when you filmed this and how long a pad did you end up choosing? Thanks much!
