SIR,
I AM WATCHING YR VIDEOS ON PLC AND THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL IN UNDERSTANDING THEM.
I AM WRITING THE FOLLOWING TO UNDERSTAND HOW A TIMER INCORPORATED TO CONTROL THE TIMING OPERATION OF A DEVICE IN THE OUTPUT SAY A MOTOR TO START AS AN EXAMPLE.
UPON GETTING INPUT IN THE INPUT CIRCUIT, AN OUTPUT OF A SPECIFIC VOLTAGE APPEARS IN THE OUTPUT (DC) WHICH IN TURN MAKES THE RELAY OPERATIONAL AND THE MOTOR STARTS RUNNING.
MY QUESTION TO YOU IS:--
1. Timer to start, it should get a operational voltage to the timer circuit.
After the timer starts counting, at the end of the set timing, it should cut off the voltage to the motor to stop it.
WHERE IS THE TIMER TO BE CONECTED, IS IT IN THE INPUT OR THE OUTPUT.?
SINCE A TIMER CANNOT TAKE THE LOAD CURRENT OF A MOTOR DIRECTLY, WILL THE TIMER SWITCHES ON A RELAY WHICH IN TURN CUTS OF THE RUNNING MOTOR?
IN THE LADDER DIAGRAM, THE OPERATION IS SEQUENTIAL, i.e .WHEN ONE OPERATION IS COMPLETED, THE SECOND SEQUENCE STARTS. IS THIS OPERATION AUTOMATIC OR NOT?
THE ANSWERS TO THE ABOVE QUESTIONS WILL GREATLY HELP ME. IF THERE IS A VIDEO MADE PLEASE BE KIND TO POST IT AND GUIDE ME.
