I wish we could have gotten some more pianissimo oriented songs from 80s Whitney. Everyone talks about her power belting, but her dynamics were truly unparalleled. She had showcased many different colors and textures to her voice, and her tone was probably the best there was in popular music throughout every volume output she produced. That bright light and agile voice could’ve sang anything back in these days. Love this!
I second this! I’d love to hear more songs like for the love, lonely talking, jesus loves me, who would imagine a king, dancing on the smooth edge etc. where it shows her dynamic range moreso. She often utilized that softer tone on album tracks and deep cuts

What a woman…
Wow! Whitney's wig. I wished she would have worn one of those wigs in her live big concerts.
That was her natural hair, she wore her natural hair up until like uh,,, 1997 I believe.
@@orisha1206 Oh I see thanks

seoi v. That’s a wig.
@@tyrindarrius it looks like her natural hair to me
I don't think that this was impromptu. Whitney was prepared with the lyrics.
Nice tribute to Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye
Judas Priest recorded their version too 😂
Uh oh anything nippy remakes ends up being hers thank God she didn't do it
Listen to the voice so pure and perfect, not like Paul Shaffer lol
I thought Paul and Whitney together was very cute.
There was no reason for him to sing. 😐
I completely agree!
Isn't this a Diana Ross song ?
No. She did cover it together with Marvin Gaye but The Stylistics recorded the first version.
@@Dutchmusicfan1992 oh okay cause I had a Diana Ross album with this number .thanks for the info
Where’s this from ? A special ?
A show called 'Friday Night Videos.' It was on NBC in my hometown, and they had celebrities introducing videos. I remember this episode.
That is Paul Shaffer and the song is originally from Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye
