It can't hurt but I can't see it helping his case since the feds operate on sentencing guidelines. Mac got caught with a ghost gun as a convicted felon and his open gang affiliations are going to be brought up. Inevitably, he's going to have to argue for the best possible plea since taking it to trial isn't a move worth making against the feds when they already have the open-and-shut goods on you. He's going to have to sit down for a few years, at least.
