The poor in London do not benefit from pollution in London. Companies are expanding into electric vehicles. E-Cars and sharing apps are becoming more prevalent. Most the poor in London use public transport in the vast majority of situations and exemptions are there for those who need it most. I don't know what kind of harm you're referring to and who you end up referring to in the first place?
You mean the working poor who rely on their cars for work, like carers for instance? Who see 10different clients a day all with different needs. Some of these self righteous comments on this (not yours) video just confirms how out of touch these green zealots are, there’s plenty of places to live that are not the engine of four countries
Disabled bays are being removed to make way for ULE vehicles parking. Who voted for that? And I suppose, who allowed it DOT? London Mayors office? Is there a policy which puts electric vehicles charging points above disabled bays in order of importance? Is Mayor Sadiq Khan going to pay back all those parking tickets issued by over-enthusiastic enforcement? His personal payment will be quite satisfactory, maybe to charity.
It's a pure money making scheme! The elderly on state pensions are now effectively trapped in their homes. You've got to be reasonably fit to use public transport. Walking to the tube, overground or bud stop. Steps, escalators & concourses all need to be negotiated. Then there's s walk at the other end. And this man will charge them to drive to Sainsbury's without compunction. They'll make millions out of this!
@@Aengus42 Point is that may be initially the case but as it becomes more economical to switch and cars become cheaper this money can be used for things like the plug-in grant which gives people a few grand to help them electrify their car. @@Frederik_uk Plug in grant? How do people living on footpaths (like me) or in blocks of flats plug in their cars? If they were serious about getting people into electric cars & public transport then a huge installation of public car charge points is needed. Most people don't have garages & drives! Then they'd sort out disabled access to stations, more bus stops & busses that are flexible to actually get people to and from their homes. They'd electrify the busses, all council vehicles. Taxis would be electric with subsidised fares. Instead they've done nothing except install a net of anpr cameras with automatic posting out of fines. The dirt cheap, high revenue option with all the main diesel polluters exempt!
Politicians must stop being economical with the truth. If politicians want to be thought of as having integrity then the truth is required. However, unpalatable the truth is. That means answering the question asked. Politicians seek public office so they must expect to be held to account. Nobody forced them. Those who lie will sooner or later be seen for what they truly are. Sadly most politicians have always been somewhat questionable. That is not likely to change until the electorate demands better.

If she wants cleaner air she should be saying "ban all cars" i dont think she know that new cars and old cars "diesel" are exactly the same the dpf/egr/manifold once you clean them they will perform the same as a brand new car. I know since ive already did mine from 36mpg it now does 58mpg on motorway it now does 68mpg. Khan is using her. So wake up. Tfl have except alot of old petrol cars that do 12mpg aston martin with v12 engines. Reason!!!!!! So they make sure you spend your money on E10 fuel...... All this cleaner air is just talk, they dont mean it, they here to make profit. Think! Why do you think they stopped people from using personal E-scooters, not because someone died. Because they fear that people will stop using public transport, so no profit for them. Also cars from 2018/new that used to cost £40k over. They pay a addisional extra tax of £325.
