Fun fact about Only Connect - Desert Bus For Hope makes a sneaky appearance as one of the only logos ever worn on the show (BBC being publicly-owned doesn't have sponsorship, or allow it on the show, to the point where any recognisable brands are not allowed on contestants) - nobody noticed when I wore my DB6 shirt in season 8 ;)
Another fun fact - it's for twisty brained maniacs. Unfortunately it requires a clockwise twist and is soul destroying for anticlockwise maniacs. Good on you Jae, you right-hand threaded swine. ;)
Another fun fact about Only Connect is that channels like ‘wheelsongenius’ have uploaded basically every episode, so you can watch it online for free! Go watch it! The show is great, and Victoria Coren Mitchell hosts.
I can't believe I just watched half an hour of completely improvised parade commentary, despite never watching that kind of coverage in my whole life. Damn, you guys are good.

I actually really like the segment of LRR reporting on local events. It feels a bit like a mix of QWRPline, garagelenium (or however you spell it), and improv.
I would love to see Connect Four again but add in a "steal" option in the middle of the chain. Have like a buzzer or something where if the other team is sure they know the answer they can windmill slam the button and take the points. But if they get it wrong they lose points, idk how much though
This might be my favorite Loading Ready Live. Great segments, love the Gaki no Tsukai Kiki series and Only Connect series. Best thing about that tasting thing is it works for so many things. You could even do like candles or perfume/cologne.
For anyone who doesn't know that might want to, the most recent "The Incredible Machine" game was under the name "Contraption Maker" instead, works on modern computers, and contains all the original levels. They literally just took the old games, combined them with some new stuff (which is also what the old games were doing), and then took away all the limits on level creation.
I don't know if Alex mentions this in the video, but Taster's Choice is based on a game called "Kiki" from the show Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende (or just Gaki no Tsukai or Gaki). It's a Batsu game that was played fairly regularly (not too much recently though). You can find every episode on the Gaki no Tsukai subreddit - /r/gakinotsukai/wiki/kiki I also want to mention: Kiki is my absolute favorite series in Gaki. Over Silent Library or any of the annual new years Batsu games (though the high points of that are probably better than the peaks of Kiki)
I am a fan of the Absolutely Tasty series. Me and my friend binged a few of the episodes the other night and she was dying during the Rice episode. We're gonna do Kiki tonight, starting with probably the famous meme one.
If you want more of something like Taster's Choice, check out the Kiki segment of Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende. It's most likely the inspiration of this segment.
Sooooo I was watching this while waiting for a Twitch Streamer to go online... and Kathleen and Ian started dancing to the "Parade music" at the same time the Streamer came on and started playing his "going online music" ... ... ... They were in time with each other
I love you all, but on the off chance you see this comment i need it known that Jarritos is pronounced Ha-ree-toes, it's a mexican brand, so the j is pronounced as an english h. Pronouncing it jor-ee-tos over and over.... hurts...
Me watching the intro : "ugh LRR is misronouncing names of places in France AGAIN. Should I tell themm the S is silent?" Me at the end of the intro : "Yup, I've been successfully trolled."

I would like to remind my fellow RUclips commenters that other children's charities are available
@@kimmiekoneko BBC did Blue Peter as well right
Well snuck! I guess also the t-shirt designs aren't really recognizeable as logos for a thing so it's a bit easier to sneak in

Really enjoying re-watching through these and I cannot overstate how much Cameron's delivery of "Ey Beej! Get the bat‘’ absolutely slayed me =)
The band-aid band might be one of the finest pieces of performance art I've ever seen.
Gotta support the channel and add my view here too. :)
Edit: "'EY BEEJ! GET THE BAT!"
I can't believe I just watched half an hour of completely improvised parade commentary, despite never watching that kind of coverage in my whole life. Damn, you guys are good.

As a Swede, I was wholly unprepared for "Spela Shoreline" to pop up. Lotta memories!
Very impressed by the parade coverage. Keep it up!
Also, tasters choice was a perfect segment.
The parade coverage was extremely Qwerpline with some hints of Tim & Eric. Perfection.
Also, I love how short the Band-Aid Band bit was.
My favorite thing is silly things done seriously so that was perfect.
It's the most monty-python-esk thing they have ever done lol.
The driest of comedy
I always appreciate a Cameron Dab.
I actually really like the segment of LRR reporting on local events. It feels a bit like a mix of QWRPline, garagelenium (or however you spell it), and improv.
I also laugh out loud with the "let's shit on Zevia soda for a solid half hour" bit😂
Slightly disappointed we didn't get a garagalenium this year.
Still a fantastic show though! The parade segment had me rolling.
Technically garagellennium was held the week after the parade so it's possible we get one in July???
LRR is the only group of people I'd gladly watch trying beverages for 30 minutes
Why is no one talking about the nosefeel???
This was such a good episode. And now I have to come up with a version of round two of only connect, finish the sequence.
D Spencer Yes please! Then we can do the Connecting Wall.
Graham's reaction to beej's wine breakdown had me roaring!
The parade segment is some very good work. I love the format
Loved four corners, would be stoked if there was more of that.
And on that day Richter gave an honest report of the traffic from his rightful place up above the ground
graham shaking his head no while saying "really?" is the greatest
I see Alex has been playing Night In The Woods, awesome!
gregg rulz ok
Crimes!
Was so happy to catch this one live, the first LRL I've been able to catch all of live. Loved the Connect Four segment
I did NOT understand that Ian was live before the camera reveal! I was pleasantly surprised :)
Seriously... this episode is magic. LRR at their greatest. Hands down.
Missed a few in the past months but this has to be the best one in a while.
that pronunciation of Jarritos threw me soooo hard
Yeah I was twitching every time they said it.
Honestly unironically i really loved the parade coverage that was fantastic
Important time stamp:
53:23
There is a dog in a side car.
Go! Go! Spectrum marching band! the fiercest warriors of the Oak Bay Parade!
also, Heather's Hornet pin is really cool.

Good nosefeel to you too. I’m generally opposed to all these new holidays but this one I like.
Holy fuck the Band Aid Band segment absolutely killed me.
Top notch comedy writing
I LOVE ONLY CONNECT!
Love the parade coverage, so so good.

The one I thought was the easiest of Connect Four was the one nobody got! XD
I love Commodore Hustle Heather
Great show guys!
I appreciate good marching band and marching band appreciation
I swear I thought the parade was set in Nsburg - I was waiting for Derek
Alex' feat of finding the correct Cola was quite impressive.
That trackless train which apparently carries clowns seems like it would make a great SCP
I want to see more LRR live reporting.
One of my favorite versions of CaH is basically Only Connect, where you try to come up with a connection for all 3 cards
Best live in ages!
Thanks to Historia Civilis, I was trying to figure out which part of the parade was the Triumph general, the sacrifice, and the conquered people.
Since no one else has said it:
GANT GANT
Band-Aid was excellent! Truely a masterpiece
Also love the parade section, soo good when Kathleen goes full qwerpline style reporter
Does Oak Bay, Victoria know that they have actual national treasures in their midst or do they just think, "oh, the people with the Cameras again?"

Beej's cola game is on point, he's some kind of cola connoisseur
A soda savant, if you will.
It's anything he puts in his mouth, really
Pixelated Ham made my life...
I feel that Taster's Choice was modeled from "Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!!". If so, good choice!
It is 100% modeled after the Kiki segment in Gaki
The parade coverage reminds me of qwerpline...
Cody Laighton It has some great editing jokes
Honestly Richter's most useful traffic report, aerial view and all
Yeah surprised we didn't get a surprise appearance from Raymonds Talc Biplane or Jimmy Jams Afternoon Jams and the Prank Patrol's Prank Tank
Oh man. I love Bodacious Space Pirates!
Also where did LRR get that High angle camera filming the parade
I'm pretty sure it's a drone from Road Quest.
@@astaiannymph Yeah, you can see Graham at 36:26 what I assume is piloting a drone.
Do Taster's Choice with Root Beer!
If they want to dispatch a team from Magicfest Seattle, there is a root beer specialty store in Lynwood with around a hundred different root beers.
If you want more of something like Taster's Choice, check out the Kiki segment of Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende. It's most likely the inspiration of this segment.
I KNEW I COULDNT BE THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT COKE LIFE AND PEPSI TASTED CLOSE TO THE SAME! They really do
Listening to someone not from Brazil say "Raul Seixas" is the funniest thing
34:55 insect buddy
Team Twisted Flex should have been called Team Pfft (5:55).
Oh, and Team Shruggies is a great name hahaha
The Pukumuku question I got first clue, thanks to BDG's Pokemon Rap. It's like "oh this is a Pokemon--and look, there's 4 Us." Bless that man XD
WAIT what about Wooloo?? Is that a Pokemon?
@kilo3989 wasn't out at time of airing. Went and checked too. Wooloo was revealed in June, this episode was the start of January 2019.
I am always up for dragging a planey husk down the street.
Sooooo I was watching this while waiting for a Twitch Streamer to go online... and Kathleen and Ian started dancing to the "Parade music" at the same time the Streamer came on and started playing his "going online music" ... ... ... They were in time with each other
"A baptism of fire" isn't a collective noun, though.
We learn once again. Do not mess with Heather.
Kathleen's brain was definitely unhinging its jaw by the end of the parade segment.
"Touca Róu Sexy-yas, Bruzil" (Ben, 2019)
XD
The most insane pronunciation I ever heard.
OMG i have that exact same reaction to that Zevia drink, I hate it so much. lmao!!
YAY Jacob :D
OH! It's LRR no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!! Kiki Cola. 🎌
"my goodness, you can't just huck jolly ranchers at toddlers willy nilly?"
I effing nailed that BNL question before ben finished reading it. fake internet points for me!
Beej’s dog impression at 54:03 is terrifying
It looks like March Marchness came a few months late this year.
I love you all, but on the off chance you see this comment i need it known that Jarritos is pronounced Ha-ree-toes, it's a mexican brand, so the j is pronounced as an english h. Pronouncing it jor-ee-tos over and over.... hurts...
I mean, knowing it's a Mexican drink should clue in on the pronunciation.
Jarritos' cola is fantastic.
I got the full 5 points on the Shrewdness one 😱.. I'll retire champion.
I wasn't sure, so I looked it up and there is no collective noun for fire. The baptism of fire clue in connect four was wrong and misleading.
That march coverage was the highlight of my weekend!
Beej with that blind taste challenge!
Me watching the intro : "ugh LRR is misronouncing names of places in France AGAIN. Should I tell themm the S is silent?"
Me at the end of the intro : "Yup, I've been successfully trolled."
Is it ironic that Thrifty food is too expensive?
. . . so, the roof top access bit. . . whats the joke here? because it just felt like really restricted QWRP-line
Road Quest 2 confirmed
Do Taster's Choice with a range of basic cheeseburgers from fast food joints
Even in his cola-tasting Serge is off by one
normally its pronounced Kay San not Key San
I fully appreciated Band-Aid Band.
Oh if you think the Zevia Cola is bad, wait till you try the Root Beer. Man that is some not good root beer.
I don't know what rad toy store Bjee is standing in front of, but I'm totally falling prey to their window display
Is this what A Journalism looks like? We can only guess...
wait did they censor the uncensored meat eating?
NoFace made a face!! @ 1:24
See, coke was always sweeter to me than pepsi, whihc is why I prefer drinking pepsi.
48:32 it's always a sight to behold when Ian breaks another cast member
1:00:42 Why is that ham censored?????
For the editor lulz, because they said "uncensored!"
Jarritos, is pronounced like Ha rritos
I feel like I got my dose of Qwerp line from this...
Its dvorak news channel 7
