sometimes I wish remixes were more subtle like this. It's cool how I was able to enjoy this like a new song even though it's just 7 seconds delayed, and there are so many songs this could work with.

I think it's just layered much better. I just listened to one after the other and the original has the lyrics and music in sync like you'd expect, but a pause in the music is also a pause in the lyrics and such. With this version, the peaks and pauses of the lyrics and music alternate, allowing them to shine more on their own and leaving no real breaks in the song. It also helps that it still harmonizes well of course, credit to the editor.
TBH i cannot STAND the original, but this is kind of a banger!! :o had no idea a delay could make such a massive difference in the vibe and progression of the song
For me, this version is less overwhelming and can be bearable to hear but either way I like both version (original and remix). Thank you for this, I can enjoy the song without feeling overstim for a bit :))
