While setting up an Amortization table, and following your example, when it comes to extending the payments out, starting with payment 2, the balance remains the same as payment #1. Further, regarding Preserve Rows option, the little triangle in my formula is pointing down, versus up like yours. Not sure if this makes a difference. Can you help with these 2 problems. Thank You.

Edward, regarding extending the payments out, payment 2 remains the same. Make sure the balance in Period 0 is in cell "B1" like in my example. In Period 1 the formula should start with whatever cell the Period 0 Balance is in. In the example cell "F7" -(minus)E7-(minus)D7. If the Period 1 Balance is correct go to Period 2 Balance.. The formula should be F7 (Period 1 Balance) -(minus) E8 -(minus) D8. Once the formula is corrected/verified hit the green check mark.
You should be able to copy the Period 2 Balance formula down to the remainder father spreadsheet. all the formula afterwards will be relative to their position in the list. Each one should begin with the previous period balance..
Regarding your second question I find the triangles on a mac face down and on the iPone & iPad they face up, but the results are the same.
Thanks for you questions hope this helps.

Without seeing your screen, it’s gonna be difficult for us to determine that. Also, it would help if you had a keyboard and you can use command, C and command V.
