i’ve loved following this series of your creative process!!!!! your character designs are so interesting. the neonate design/color pallet reminds me of wasp larva. those things are freaky deaky
Please, in the future, add an idle animation for this back-but-hand where its caresses the egg yolk with its fingers. Made me nervous just to think about, had to share and ask for.
19:15 you can add temporary Mask modifier and move polygons that should be hidden to vertex group, and then just choose this group. Optionally invert it. Ta-da, part of mesh (or multiple meshes) is hidden even when you working on different object!
i love how you're getting the outside to look like broken rock or marble, makes it look really hard and nice. not sure how possible it is but would be cool to have that part be less goopy than the legs.
I wanted to remind you to give everything the touch of infinity that you mentioned before! I don't remember if that applies to the Neonates as well but I thought I'd remind you anyways! Keep up great work!
Alt-key mode? I didn't know it was a thing. I manually re-assigned things to Alt, and naturally tried double-clicking - it didn't work. Will have to look up "modes" I guess :D Thanks!
@@BoroCG sorry it's not really a mode, it's a setting in preferences called "emulate 3 button mouse". It's meant for people who don't have a middle mouse button so they can press alt and click to navigate just like what you described. I just assumed that's what you were already using since that's already a setting, I didn't expect you had set all that up manually with custom shortcuts lol
Hi there, amazing video. Why don't you make the arm separate from the body? You can have this rest pose for some attacks and then use the free arm movement for some other pattern of attacks (for example like a smashing tail that exposes temporarily the egg shell to be hit for more damage), considering this is a boss. Another thing, will be great to see exposed bones and blood trails on the amputated shin! Great job btw.
i have been following the progress and i'm already so hyped for the game! one thing's not really clear to me tho, is it going to have survival horror elements like stamina food and water or is it going to be more like focuse on combat?
The short answer is yes, survival mechanics, while not obsessing with them too much. But this whole development process is partially an improv: I'll see how I want it - how you guys want it - when the time comes to that part
I have the lore, and I recently - after a long struggle - came up with a title. It's still a working title, and I won't say what it is for now. So no one would copyright it before me or something :D
i known it might be awhile but i cannot WAIT to hear the sound design you come up with for these guys. there’s so much potential

looks great! how bout the name Cradle neonate? or Husk? great job either way :)
Mmm I like Cradle! Best so far, thanks.
I think cradle works really well, especially because it continues the neonate motif of being like fetal creatures
It would be cool to have another hand kinda melted into to the front of the egg shell. Might support the theme of growing and changing a little!

red yellow and red could be a nice color palette for the neonates
Looooove the details in the back!
21:25 Could the Pose brush in Sculpt mode have been a better option to adjust the hand position?
Oh yeah, maybe it would be faster. Forgot about it this time, thanks! Not sure if necessarily better, but definitely faster
@3:34 when you enable the Alt-key mode for navigation, the way to select edge loops is to just double click the edge

Damn, this "emulate 3 button mouse" is exactly what I needed, without any manual remapping, thanks for the tip!
Great work mate
This looks really good! Beautiful work! I just wonder how the monsters in the game end up attacking or what attacks they can perform.

Oh hell yeah more designs good job gamer and good luck for the future
Nice work!
Alt+Q switches objects while in sculpt mode, you hover over the object and ALT+Q.
Damn! Thanks, this sounds fun

Are these characters for fun or are they actually going to be for a game
Literally both
@@BoroCG am I allowed to know what the game is called?
I love you videos
I love you too videos
“Hard-shell Neonate” seems like a good name for a egg tank
Plus one for "Hard Shell!"
Dyntopo stays on once you get rid of any custom data like uvs. I think.
Comes back every time I visit the edit mode. I think it's because of the vertex colors, it's the one thing that stays around after turning on dyntopo
@@BoroCG Yeah vertex color is custom data. Major Dyntopo changes/improvements are around the corner though.
Oh good to know!
Hell yeah cool people
you could name them :
fried eggs, boiled eggs, omelette and so on ... lol
Im curious, whats this game Called? And do you have any lore for it yet?

@@BoroCG ooooh, i see, thats smart :P
I was wondering Why i never heard you refer to the game by a name hahaha
"Cradle" maybe?
are you worried about how you will optimize the game?
I mean, I know I will be doing it. Not sure why I have to worry specifically haha
@@BoroCG i meant worried about how powerful the hardware would need to be too not make the game lag with such detail put in the 3d modelling
I'll project the details as a normal map on a low-poly mesh later, it'll be a pretty simple model

BRO! EAT SOME BREAD, DAMMIT!!! 😨
Why would you wish such a horrible act on someone?!
I think you forgot to do the nail of the thumb
You're right, adding some nail details rn
