    Great video. I also bought a Memphis Shades 21" to replace the factory windshield on my '09 Road King Classic. It went on flawlessly (I didn't use tape). The stock windshield was 19" but I like the 2 extra inches as I am also tall. Original one got hit with a rock several years ago (better the windshield than me) and the small crack just kept growing.

    Thank you very much. Having the part numbers for the adhesive tape helped as well. My local Harley shop had a good price on them, less than $20. Installation was a breeze. Next time I will do a better job of dry fitting/tweaking everything to make for a better fit.

    Thank you Sir
    ..I'm about to install mine, and your video was so helpful. I'm not going to bother replacing the tape. I'm thinking of using a small bead of clear silicone for a little cushion
    Anyway
    ..Thank You

    Thanks for the good video. Could you get me a close up of how the quick detach bolts look? I am putting a shield on but have hardware that looks way too short to work.

      I'd be happy to but unfortunately I just sold the bike

    Does the steel hardware in the windshield? Which goes where? There is a thick piece and a thinner piece?

    I dont think you need the tape. They recommend putting the plastic screws in from the back and pushing them through with the metal screw. Great video good to see the process. No torque number though

      Thanks, agree, the second one I did, I didn’t do the tape. Works fine. Just don’t over tighten.

      Thanks, good eye! I rigged up a drone camera that had a gimble in it to take out vibration but I fried the camera in the process. ha.

    Can those flat metal strips be purchased? Do they serve a purpose?

    • @MarionBlair

      They come with the Harley clip on windshield, you can check with your local dealer and see if they sell them separately, maybe?

    Why do you have to replace the tape

    • @MarionBlair
      @MarionBlair  4 года назад +1

      You really don't. It just helps hold and less movement in the frame

      is that kerosene or gasoline in the container. Yellow jug usually means kerosene?

    • @Louis-lm2fy

      Or is it diesel fuel?

    I'll bet you don't even need the tape

    • @MarionBlair
      @MarionBlair  7 лет назад +2

      You don't, If I did it again, I wouldn't bother. The key is not to over tighten the nuts as you'll break it.

  • @Louis-lm2fy

    Everyone don't know what a yellow jug is!!! Is it diesel or kerosene?

    • @MarionBlair

      Gasoline

    • @Louis-lm2fy
      @Louis-lm2fy 5 лет назад

      Thanks for the tip on using gasoline, It cleaned everything up great. I was just wondering on the yellow jug, by the color code red is for gasoline, blue is for kerosene, and yellow is for diesel fuel. That's the only reason I asked the question.
