My Flavor Grenade pluot bloomed beautifully this spring on its 3rd year in ground. A late frost came and killed its flowers. Then a bacteria infected the damage and spread to the rest of the tree. It permanently defoliated the bottom 1/3 the tree and even did damage to branches. Its a miracle the tree heald 12 fruit. They taste frickin amazing! I guess i might need a frost blanket next year lol

I killed my multi pluots tree this summer. I watered it using drip irrigation, but it seemed like water was not enough. The tree was in the ground only for 2 years, and it was the first time to own Citation root stock. I will try one more time next year. I hope I can harvest at least dozens in Puyallup, tho.

Love Dapple Dandy, the first pluot I tried that got me into pluots and still one of my favorites.

no problem with plum curculio? my plums get ruined by the larva. I have to cover every fruit or the whole tree, I dont use pesticides

@@nickkasko2097 thanks. Looks like splash and flavor grenade are the only two pluots that fruits reliably in PnW.

@@cutthecord1 those don’t fruit for me either. I’m in a cold micro climate. The property happens to sit in the lowest area in town. An old river bed and the cold air settles and runs right down that valley. Temperature drastically different than surrounding land.
