- In August 2021, the ambitious mission to reintroduce 12 cheetahs from South Africa and Malawi back into the Zambeze Delta ecosystem in Mozambique took place.
It is estimated that fewer than 7,000 African cheetahs are living in the wild today, with the population having halved over the past four decades. We are proud to have partnered with the The Cabela Family Foundation, Ivan Carter Wildlife Conservation Alliance, ANAC, The Endangered Wildlife Trust, African Parks, The Zambeze Delta Conservation to have made this relocation possible.
A special thank you to The Cabela Family Foundation, founded by Dick and Mary Cabela through their shared love for wildlife and Africa to further conservation on the continent. They have played an important role in restoring the Zambeze Delta's historic diversity, which had been decimated by the Civil War. The reintroduction of cheetahs to Coutada 11 has the potential to expand the wild cheetah range by 30%.

Thank you for this amazing video and Thank you for all the people involved in this. I love Cheetahs and I hope their population will rise. I also hope that if needed a human intervention in case Mama Cheetah is injured please do so, so the cubs will grow into adult. Thanks again. More power.

Wow just amazing ! Dropped to 9% is also just shocking ! Almost extinct ! Tysm for all you do !! Words can't express the Thx enough !
Pretty incredible! It's great to be able to expand populations into habitats where they have gone extinct as the biggest issue is space. Thanks for the support :)
What beautiful animals. Only question I have is what we're those things around there necks and do they have to live in the wild with those on?
Those are collars that are necessary to track their movement and location as they are the founder population in a new ecosystem. There are a lot of unknowns in a project like this, so it's important to use the opportunity to learn as much as possible and protect them from any human threats where possible.
Its Asiatic cheetah or african cheetah ?
These are southern African cheetah
make sure when yall done yall head back to europe
Haha nice. Glad that’s what you took away from the film 👍
