- I recently shot two rolls of Lomography's Lomochrome purple through my pentax 67, in this video I go over my experience with the film and how it handles.

music by myself
Thanks to Reuben, Freddie and Rudi for additional camera work
The 1st portrait at ISO 100 is unreal. Amazing stuff!
Like clothes and fashion , everything comes back around, but then im 76 and started taking photographs from the age of 10. this reminds me very much of the 60's maybe the 70's with the different Cokin filters that were all the rage, and infra red film
the variable iso seems really nice. for a more dramatic deeper effect 100 iso is the way to go!
Beautiful portraits! Thank you for the information. I thought that it was my fault that the film didn’t roll up tight. Good to know that it wasn’t…:) I will try the purple lomography! Looks like a lot of fun!
Stepping up the production. Nice job all around!
My man
Samson Arnett-Roughley also what’s your lav setup in this? Are you using Rode?
Bryan Birks a cheap Chinese clone haha
Shout out to the sun and clouds for making the bedroom lighting so inconsistent
Great video bro.. Im really thankful for your music. Im growing tired of most film-photographer's channels using the same lo fi hip hop songs.
haha thankyou man, I know lool
by far the best one yet. Super sick.

hey bro gotta say it's the first time I saw some Lomochrome Purple pics that I really like
Thank you very much for sharing this, also great video.
You've solidified my desire to shoot this film. Great vid.
thankyou !
Great video! Awsome photos! THX!!!!
answered many of my questions...thanks much....
Really great and informative video Samson, I think it's so interesting how the hue of purple shifts when this film is rated at different ISO's. Keep it up, you have got yourself a new subscriber !
Thank you , a very enlightening production .
such a good video hell yeah dude
thanks my dude
Fantastic video, hope to see more of your videos and work, in general.
thanks :)
Stunning photographs, man.
thankyou mate, appreciate that
Beautiful portraits!
amazing model x
Just bought some for 35mm after watching this. Stoked to go shoot it soon as it gets in!
nice !
Black & White infra red film is still available, it gives a nice white foliage dark sky look. You typically use a cut off filter that blocks out all of the white light, and have to use very long exposures, and it only really works in bright sunlight, getting the correct exposure is something of a lottery.
Just got a roll today, this has made me super siked to shoot it! Also nice that you are English and not super loud in your face like some of the American channels are 👍🏻🎞📸❤️
Loved the video! I have a roll of this sitting around, I didn’t know the tones shift that easily. Great work Man!
go shoot it !
i love your vids and just subscribed! congrats on 500 !
thanks !
Amazing photos💛💛
I may have to give this (35mm) a go.
The yellow meadow really turned out super nice
Cheers for this me old. Very useful.
I've never had issues with Lomo 120 film.
Just discovered your channel and subbed, lovely video and brilliant production!
thankyou !
turns everything into lavender town
Nice video dude, subbed. I like your style. Keep on the good work!
Thankyou !
Whoa nice photos and surprisingly good production quality considering how small your channel is
I appreciate that!
Wow great photos and great video, thanks! As you're shooting some of them on 100 iso and some on 400, what do you indicate to the lab?
Didn't say anything specific to them.. haha.
Amazing !!! Wow the colors are insane ! What iso have you used on your thumbnail portrait ? Is it 100 or 400? Thank you very much. Beautiful portraits
Thanks ! 100 I think...
Hey I was wondering if you took these photos in brighton, ma if so do you think you can share the location of the first golf course with the purple flowers
Hollingbury golf course!
hey i love this! i have just a regular 35mm point and shoot, i can’t change the iso, can i still use this film?
Yes! Not sure what the camera will meter for though... Maybe shoot the film in different lighting conditions to get a varied hue of purple?
Most compacts use the DX code on the film to set the ISO. Lomo 35mm films tend not have a DX code, so the camera will use a default value, that should be in the camera manual. If your compact does not support exposure compensation or manually setting the film speed, you are stuck with whatever value is the default for Non-DX coded film for that camera.
Interesting that that photo at 3:55 shot at 400 looks brighter than the one shot at 100. It should be the other way around right? Did you shoot the rest of the photos in the field at 100 or 400? What about the portraits of Rudi and Freddie?
Adjusted shutter speed to account for different iso, so they should look the same in terms of brightness. Can't remember now haha sorry.
how are the pants staying green in the photos?
Looks like the purple tone is more pronounced at 100 ISO. Great test, now I'll have to buy some!
I shot a roll at 400, under harsh California sun and it turned out this horrid everything purple exposures. 😩
@@2007rSix Well it's called Purple for a reason 🤷♂️
@@Caballeroshot yeah.. I guess.. I’m gonna try shooting at 100 ASA, hopefully that’ll leave the skin tones more natural looking. How’s your experience been with it Alex?
Love the video, I do feel like you repeat yourself a bit to much but still loving the content!
thanks, in what way do you mean ?
bruh
Very cool man
thanks mate
Sick video, this might sound like a dumb question but how would it perform in a point and shoot where you can't set iso and it doesn't have a code to be read by the camera?
thankyou!, I assume 400? no clue though.
This video could’ve been half as long if you didn’t keep repeating yourself ...
But super awesome photos dude , I’ve been wanting to shoot portraits with lomochrome purple myself , glad to see it turned out so well!
oi. the youtube algorithm likes it if you make the video 10 minutes.. ;) go get you some man.
Nice my friend, see you
yes then
What camera are you using?
Pentax 67!
I shot a roll of this at ISO 400 with my cinestill kit and none of the photos came out:( the film was not exposed or anything and my chemicals are still fairly fresh. Anyone else had this problem?:/
Shmashed it
buddy x
Why oh why does EVERY video seemingly HAVE to have background music over it? Yours started off so promisingly, just you talking with no background music... Hurrah! But no, true to the form of every other film instructional video by everyone else, that plink plink, plonk plonk piano music inevitably started and ruined the experience for me
