If you have rusty coins laying around waiting to be useful again, put it in coca cola! It really works! I tried it in my class last year. Such an improvement.. But I'm not saying coke works for everything though.
For the washing coins with toothpaste one, squirt tomato sauce onto one side of the coin, leave it for around 10-15 minutes then wash the tomato sauce off the coin, your coin should be clean. Do the same with the other side. Hopefully it works. :) You can also use coca-cola by putting the coin into a glass of coca-cola and leaving it for 15 minutes.
