I am super late with this lol But for the Return of Red Eyes once per turn means once during your turn. Cards that allow you to use effects during either player's turn will say exactly that. "Once during either player's turn" or counter plays or quickplays are allowed during both player's turns. So idk if it was ignored on purpose to cheat your way out of the monster reborn or not but just clearing it up.
That's not how Return of the Red-Eyes works. It's once per turn, during the controllers turn. Not either players turn. Alex should've been able to make that play.
Exactly what I was hoping for watching you guys duel is not only entertaining but nostalgic man brings me back to my childhood dueling with friends and family 😭
Question: My and my friend were dueling today and I was using a plant deck (black rose) I attacked his face-down card and he used a penguin that targeted a monster to return it to the hand (my black rose dragon) I chained with "Forbidden Dress" which lowers my monsters ATK by 600 2400-600=1800 in return my monster cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects. Then he said I can't chain it from my hands when I have a rule book that says otherwise.
You can actívate Quick Play Spells from your hand ONLY during your turn, once its your opponents turn and you didnt set the Forbidden Dress, you cant activated from your hand... so you did right, slap your friend with the Rulebook lol
Penguin Soldier activates at the end of the Damage Step, so you could not chain Forbidden Dress at that time Also, even if it wasn't in Damage step, Penguin Soldier would target it before Dress takes effect, so you wouldn't stop it like that either.
Did anyone else's jaw drop when he drew the Polymerization?... Dark Paladin, Dark Magician & Buster Blader all summoned in the same turn... YUUUU-GIII-OOOOOOOOOOH!

If you wait for the Roulette Spider to resolve, can you still activate Scapegoat?. I mean, to use that second card isnt it supposed to be activated before Roulette Spider resolves?
Nyeh! The Yugi deck had it. After summoning Kuriboh, deconstruct Valk, then attack with it & Alpha; Gemini S. is gone. Then attack with Gamma & Beta = Game.

I THINK...as in...I AM NOT SURE, but I think you cannot send tokens to the grave since they just dissapear if they leave the field, thus you cannot activate symbols of duty
2 misplays, 1 from each, Alex switched the Red Eyes Summoned Skull to attack mode when he normal summoned it for the gemini effect, and you're actually not allowed to changed the battle mode of a monster that was normal summoned that turn freely even if it was Normal Summoned in Defense Mode, and second is Roman sent a token to the grave as a cost for the symbols of duty, and the ruling on tokens is that they cannot be "sent" anywhere as a cost.
oh yea, and Roman also missed a timing chain for roulette spider and scapegoat, which once the effect of roulette spider resolves you can't chain another card cause it's at the end of the effect already and not on the start of activation and such, so he'd be at 300 from the damage and have 4 tokens, not 3
wait what simplycheating. you had 4 scapegoats and an axe raider. how did you summon the red eyes? seal of oricalcos to change your monster zone fronm 5 to 6?
In second duel, Alex could have one on his third turn, he had jack's, queen's and king's knight on the field and dark magic curtain in his hand with simply only have 4700 life points. Could have used curtain to get dark magician to attack face down keeper of the shrine and then attacked directly with his three knights for game
KamenRider1113 what you said made no sense... all he done was point out a possible option alex could have chosen, which would have led to him winning the duel.
Example: Infestation Infection is also a perma trap that lets you trigger once per turn and you can use that on your opponents turn on duelpro and in Legacy of the Duelist so this red eyes perma trap follows the same rules.
the black luster soldier ritual only can be used when you sacrifice monster that then level is equal, if you pass the level can't be summoned. he does trap
(In their 1st match) I don't really care if they wanted to play Symbols of Duty the way they did, BUT... after sacrificing the archfiend guy for the Red-Eyes Black Flare D., it actually should've stayed as a nulled spell card on his field because the archfiend guy wasn't 'destroyed'. Sorry. Keep that in mind for future duels, Simply! If you wanna use cards like that or Call of the Haunted etc, 'Tributes' don't make them leave your field with your monster!
SimplyAlex you played the game wrong valkyrion can only be summoned by tributing all three magnet warriors. *Tributing* So they have to be on the field

Normal monsters are the yellow cards. Tokens synchros fusions rituals and xyz with no effects are non effects monsters and are not normal monsters
Similarly, I don't think he could use Symbols of Duty with the token, since it wouldn't be sent to the graveyard.

I believe that you can chain forbidden dress to penguin soldier, because it is a quick play and it has priority over monster effects.

Reazon it's a trap, not a monster effect or spell so I think it's valid to use on either turn.

MetroidGuy1 Symbols of Duty is an Equip Spell. If it’s target leaves the field, it falls off like every other equip spell.
