  • Fulbright alumna Mariam Saleem Farooqi is an art historian and cultural heritage professional working on museum development in Pakistan. She has worked in the Asian Art Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and has excavated at the ancient Roman site of Aphrodisias in Turkey - a project jointly run by New York University and Oxford University.
    Farooqi holds a Master’s in the History of Art and Archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, with a focus on medieval South Asian sculpture.

    Happened to meet Mariam while working in the Karachi Biennale for KB22. It is always great to see that in the academic front, people are out there playing their roles for our tangible heritage. 🎉
