- Honeybee colony loss is something that all Beekeepers big and small will face. It's completely possible to have a near perfect season followed by a season with heavy loss! Today we teach you how not to be discouraged by this, and how to get back on your feet when it happens.

Great video! I especially enjoyed the first few minutes.
Thank you! Glad you liked that. 😄
At the start of the video you had me screaming NO don't open it. It goes against everything you have told us but you knew it was empty. I should have known better. 🤣 Great video! Spring will bee here soon!!
That's funny you say that because while I was filming I was thinking "I bet the viewers are gonna call foul on the fact that I'm opening this hive!". Thanks for watching, can't wait for the warm weather. ☀️
Looks like you are in a magical place.
Thank you, we are very blessed!
Colony loss happens, to bad about the rescores though. I try to tell people it happens to everyone, stick at it.👍
I try to stay on top of losses that way I can be sure and salvage the supply's before wax-moth or mice get to them.
Thanks for sharing your time and experiences. Blessed Days...
Thank you and blessed days to you as well!
Great info as always
Thank for watching!
Thanks for the words of encouragement!
No problem Wendy! 😊

Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
How does a swarm hive differ from a main hive?
A swarm hive is completely dedicated to catching swarms. A main hive is meant for housing Bees permanently, generally from a swarm transfer. However Honeybees can be caught in a main hive as well as we have done in the past.
You moved a queenless swarm and what did you think was going to happen? Of course it was going to die. 50 percent loss? Ah no. Maybe with bad beekeepers that don't care for their stock.
I love our Bees, not going to cry over loss because we've had perfect years to balance out the bad. Also I can always make up the loss during swarm season. You just have to know how to catch swarms. 😉
