    This is an amazing video and deserves more watches. I remember going over this in school because around the same time they built the superdome.

    Urban growth? They did the same to black communities in South Africa and called it Apartheid.

    Hello!
    I hope you're having a great day! My name is Alexandra Myers, and I am a producer with ABC News. I am currently working on a story about highway pollution in New Orleans. We are focusing on 1-10. In our story we are interested in using a small portion of this video. Would it be possible for us to use that video? What is your clearance process?
    Please get back to me whenever you have a chance! I look forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you,
    Alexandra Myers

    concerning the overpass, i mean we kinda needed it, like every city has the freeways running along downtown...so where else would they put this freeway??

      Possibly not in the middle of a thriving black community? Why do you think this community was chosen over prosperous white ones?

    • @galaxies352
      @galaxies352 5 лет назад +10

      Aja Kweliona because a prosperous white neighborhood was not available to destroy for the route that was needed to have access to downtown New Orleans.

      @@galaxies352 So there was absolutly no way to get from Downtown to Elysian? That tiny stretch of 610 could have been avoided.

      @@galaxies352 It was originally planned for the river, also wouldn't have been great but to say there was no way around this is just wrong
