- Got word of a massive 25 unit powermove / storage train, heading up the Joint Line. I caught it in Greenland, Colorado, just north of Palmer Lake.
This had a wide variety of paint schemes and was absolutely awesome to catch!
Thanks for watching and enjoy!
Location: Greenland, Colorado

Welcome to Trains 5.9!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the video.
I generally film trains on the Union Pacific / BNSF Joint Line in Colorado, but I also travel farther south to catch trains on the BNSF Southern Transcon in Texas and Arizona, as well as the Union Pacific Sunset Route.

Thanks again!
have to wonder how many of those are actually providing traction and how many are just along for the ride.
nice to see the old blue and yellow SF paint scheme
Definitely agree! I truly miss the Bluebonnet paint scheme... very rare these days.
Sounded like first and last units were online
I’m guessing the only 3rd and 4th gen 6 axles on this consist
I’d wager most of those will probably never turn a wheel again under their own power, or at least not for BNSF
I know:(
Ive actually seen one of those blue and yellow ones. It was so cool.
That's too bad!! All those engines going into storage. Well done, and cool video just subscribed.
Thanks so much! And I know, it definitely makes me sad seeing that... there are some nice locomotives there...
@@trains5.9 Your welcome!! Yeah, me too, especially because like you know some of these engines are in good enough shape to be refurbished and put into railroad museums! That would be so cool if the RR's did that, but I don't think that's really a thing...
Holy smokes that’s impressive! I’m a Colorado Rail fan too 😎
Thanks! And awesome! This place is so fun to railfan, seems like there's very few days without seeing something interesting. See you out on the rails!
That was a bnsf power move!! And thank you for recording this lovely video😊😊😁😁👌💪😁😁
Yes, sure was! Thanks for the support, my friend. I truly do appreciate it!
Outstanding catch 👍
Thanks so much! I love the username, Long live Alco!

Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
love the old warbonnets!
I do too! Truly wish there were still more of them out there... especially the original Santa Fe markings...
@@trains5.9 I love warbonnets too😊
Nice catch
Thank you very much!
Great catch of power move I railfan the JointLine too
Thank you! And very nice, definitely a great rail line to action on!
Wow AWESOME!!!
Thanks so much!
Absolutely amazing!
Thanks so much!
You’re welcome!!! Hope to see u on my channel someday!
I'm not sure what was going on. Why were there so many engines hooked together? I still enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks for watching! Not sure about the duration but they were going to storage for the time being.
wow so much engines
Yes it was!
Have back spasms, this provided first smile today thank you
Thanks for watching! I’m glad this video helped!
So cool. I have seen 1 of those maroon HLCX in a nearby city. Never seen it in action. Maybe soon.
Oh wow! That's really cool! I would love to see one of these under its own power.
@@trains5.9 I have never seen the engine in action. But I have seen videos of it moving in my area. Never as the lead engine.
How many out of that 25 were actually running? none were smoking at all
Honestly, I think just the front and rear locomotives!
Even gp40,s incredible and the northern Santa fe as well
Wow great catch I catch a B&P powermove with 8 units
Oh wow! That's a neat railroad!
@@trains5.9 thanks it’s awesome
Hopefully AWVR or CHAL can work together to purchase 19 of these units. Amtrak would also hopefully get 15 of these rebuilt units for long distance passenger train service due to being equipped with HEP. 15 are rebuilt for Amtrak by MEI in East St. Louis, IL, while 19 go to CHAL or AWVR. Are they true?
Oh wow, I didn't know about that. That would definitely be interesting to have them running for Amtrak one day!
Awesome catch!
Thanks so much!
Vídeo espetacular demais amigo, lindo registro dessas locomotivas super top, parabéns pelo excelente registro 👏💯
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching the video, I hope to see another one like that someday!
Wow great job, I Chase trains too, I subscribed 😎
Thanks so much, I do appreciate it, my friend! Can't beat railfanning!
Nice!
Thanks so much!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Wait they all went to storage and solded right
I'm not entirely sure as of currently, but I think some of them did...
They are ATSF, BNSF & HLCX Units.
Yep, sure are!
Where were they shipped off to?
I believe they were going to storage! I think someone said somewhere in Wyoming possibly? I know some were getting sold, as well, but I'm not quite sure to who!
@@trains5.9 probably to LTEX or some other leasing company possibly?
How do you know when these trains come? Do you use a scanner or is there a Facebook group?
Honestly, a lot of the time, I'm just using a scanner but sometimes, there are people that give a heads up on Joint Line Railfanning on Groups IO!
Where u catch the power move trains
They can be anywhere in the systems along any rails! Just depends if there are units moving to storage or not.
Some of those looked decently new/rebuilt, was this a power move or to scrap? Awesome vid!
Thanks, Adam! I appreciate you watching! And I think it may have been a power move/storage train, with some of them being sold to HLCX or another leasing company... I know what you're saying though, some of them definitely look too clean to be going to scrap!
Nice video. New Subscriber
I do appreciate it, thanks so much for the support, my friend!
I dont see alot of santa fe on yt why is that?
Unfortunately, I think a lot of them are getting repainted... they're definitely becoming more rare!
If that train had cars 💀
EMD funeral mostly. Thx.
Unfortunately, you're right:( thanks for watching, Bob!
I personally thought that was for if they were carrying a heavy load they needed multiple
That definitely is the case sometimes, but in this case, they were being transported
That is what you call a funeral train! engines headed to the scrapyard :(
I was told these are actually going to be sold to other railroads for use. Let's hope that's true!
Looks like a death train
