@@MileageMikeTravels …I worked and lived my whole life (50yrs) at exit 136. The weekday traffic NB on the GSP, 5 lanes crawls for 40-50 miles. From the Driscoll to above Clifton AND you get to pay for the privilege of sitting in traffic. If ur still up north, drive Linden from the GSP down Wood ave, past the storage tanks to the waterfront. Thanks to ur SC vids, I was able to move to a wonderful area.
Ive been up & down this stretch tons of times growing up when I used to live in this area of the state. ( Lived a few miles from Exit 137 at one point) Who remembers the that Pabst Blue Ribbon bottle water tower in Newark? Thats long gone at this point.
I’ve driven nearly the entire route from I-80 in Elmwood Park to the Atlantic City Expressway and back. A gorgeous drive. I wonder if anyone feels that this should be upgraded to an Interstate. Except for the section north of I-95 where the overpasses are too narrow for a tractor trailer to clear.
Aww man I was hoping you would included crossing the Gov. Alfred E Driscoll Bridge. Nevertheless, great video of the Garden State Parkway Mileage Mike.
Drove the opposite direction; south on the Thruway to the GSP, then south to the Jersey Turnpike in 2017 to avoid NYC. Wasn't all that bad. Had bought an Illinois I-Pass before starting my trip. It's good on the EZPass system, so no stops for toll between Chicago and Washington, and also for a quick trip to Toronto. Even got discounts on tolls along the way, so it paid for itself.
@@dantesinfernopurgatory7826 nobody takes that way just to get to the turnpike or the parkway you may aswell just take the parkway or turnpike, the only reason why I’d take 287 is to get to PA
Ahhh, the Garden State Parking lot. Must have been a weekend morning. Thanks for the trip up the GSP and confirmation of why i escaped to the upstate.
Yep, around 8am.

This is the most calm Ive seen Garden State during day time.....
I used to get chills as a kid when my dad by the massive cemetery in Newark. He lived in Harrison. RIP
The Garden State Parkway ends as beautifully as it begins 172 miles south. What a splendid time of year to drive it!
Jersey is still gorgeous.
Haven’t been home in awhile.
This is one of the reasons why it’s called The Garden State.
Home ❤

Nice ride along garden state parkway
Happy valentine's day from Beaumont TX
You should’ve gotten off at Chestnut Ridge and gone through monsey and spring valley . Would’ve made this video epic
I think you’ve convinced me to bookmark Spring Valley for a video next time I’m in New York 👍
@@MileageMikeTravels the town of MONSEY is the place to go. Unreal .

I find it super funny how the only time I was on the parkway started from I-287 and ended near LBI

The roads are all fixed now. Super smooth and just in time for election lol

You could've saved some money on tolls by taking I-287 South to the NJ Turnpike and avoid the Parkway section through the North Jersey metro area.
