Big Hero 6 was originally a very obscure comic book series by Marvel about a team of Japanese superheroes, yet the movie changed pretty much everything from the comic, all for the better. The movie version of the team is thus much more well known than their comic book counterparts. In the game *Kingdom Hearts III*, the body of Baymax that was left behind in the portal dimension was taken by one of the villains and corrupted, with the red chip still installed. He was the boss battle for the Big Hero 6 section of the game. There have been various pieces of tie-in media that continue the events of the movie's universe, most notably "Big Hero 6: The Series", a 2D animated show that serves as a sequel to the film, with much of the original voice cast reprising their roles.
There's an animated series of Big Hero 6 that was released after the movie. The animation style is different, but fits really well because it makes the series looks like it came out of a comic's page. Also, the atory picks up right from where the movie ends.
This movie... really is kind of a masterpiece. Like, seriously. First off, one of my favorite things having to do with this movie is actually a crossover from another movie. When Tony is going through the AI cards to replace Jarvis after he became Vision in Age of Ultron, one of the cards was labeled TADASHI. Breaks my heart every time. Still, I just love the journey of grief that this movie represents, and how powerfully it is told. Heck, even the microbots are fascinating, because when you see Hiro controlling them in the demonstration, they are very structured and geometric, but when Callahan is controlling them, they make very jagged and chaotic shapes, reflecting the mental state of the person controlling them. I really do like that Honey Lemon is the only one who _really_ pronounces Hiro's name correctly. Hiro is a Japanese name, and the pronunciation is very specific. And the architecture and design of Sanfrantokyo is amazing. Apparently, in the lore, it is where Japan took a massive part in the rebuilding of San Francisco after one of the major earthquakes. Oh, and those "kite" wind turbines are so beautiful. I wish we could get something like that to work IRL. Oh, also, Alastair Krei is voiced by good old Alan Tudyk, who is in... damn near every Disney movie these days. Look up his resume, it is insane. Duke of Weselton in Frozen, Duke Weaselton in Zootopia, Heihei in Moana, the toucan in Encanto, K-2SO in Rogue One... the list literally goes on. And yes, this one always makes me cry. The part that always got me: if Callahan had been focused on trying to find out if his daughter lived and focused on rescuing her, instead of his revenge plot on Crey...
Indeed. Callahan is what Hiro could have become: so focused on revenge for the dead that he forgot about the living. Now, as Alex pointed out, Abigail will be in the hospital, while her father will be in prison for his crimes. In the end, Callahan's revenge only made his life worse.
Another Easter egg here and boy is it ungodly levels of nerdy... Hiro geeks out over meeting Prof Callaghan, creator of the Callaghan-Catmull spline. This is a nod to Ed Catmull, former Pixar President, who pioneered computer graphics as a student at the U of U. Inventing, among other things, the Catmull-Rom spline. I think I was the only person in the entire cineplex who got that one. And possibly the state.
I read once that Disney movies intentionally include big emotional losses such as a parent dying because it’s a relatively “safe” way to teach kids about some harsh realities of life and sometimes bad things happen but it’s okay you’ll get through it.
Alex, thank you so so much for doing this movie. We knew you would love it. Just what I needed this week. Did not stop grinning from start to finish!! Amazing video.

Fun fact, there was an anime series created by Stan Lee called Heroman. It even had a cameo of an animated Stan Lee, even though he spoke japanese. You should check it out.
Callaghan's daughter was a test pilot, she knew the risks, sure she trusted the people making decisions to keep her safe, but her death doesn't warrant a revenge story leading to death.
Fun fact: if you look at HoneyLemon’s super purse, it has the elements of the periodic table. She is literally creating the formula, while in battle! It’s so freakin cool!

I get what you mean but your sentence doesn’t have an ending.
8:42 I totally agree with you
38:30 Oh I completely agree. I'm not sure there is a bad guy in this movie
you should watch 'Triple Frontier' great movie plot and cast. You''ll love it
Another Easter egg here and boy is it ungodly levels of nerdy...
Unironically, Callaghan is the best of the best-executed Disney twist villains (other than the twist villains of Frozen and Zootopia).
Give that editor a raise
my kid and i watch this and Klaus every so often. Daddy daughter movie - done RIGHT
Bro that thumbnail!? lmao aunt cass be strong like that
I read once that Disney movies intentionally include big emotional losses such as a parent dying because it’s a relatively “safe” way to teach kids about some harsh realities of life and sometimes bad things happen but it’s okay you’ll get through it.
This movie growing up was so cool I can't explain how much I love it
Having just watched your Incredibles reaction the pause breaks to exercise your deviant nature brings me joy and is beyond relatable 🤣
9:27 this part reminds me of when Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone/iPod in 2007 & 2008.
Aunt Cass can certifiably, indelibly, absolutely get it
Alex, thank you so so much for doing this movie. We knew you would love it. Just what I needed this week. Did not stop grinning from start to finish!! Amazing video.
I love how much joy Baymax brings you 😂 He’s the best
The way they managed to make Baymax look terrifying when he's trying to kill Callahan is crazy considering how he is the rest of the time
This film is so incredible. I used to have to watch it on an almost daily basis (my kids were obsessed with it) and it never got boring or tired.
I love this movie so much. I cried with my brother when we saw it in theaters the weekend it came out, and I'm literally tearing up *like a madman* in my chair 'cause it still hits so hard. Such an all-around extraordinary story.
Yo that thumbnail is wild! 😂😂
Just bc there is breasts (half covered btw)? OH NO!
"he just did thievery with him" is a hilarious sentence.
Me, when I first started watching reaction videos: "Group reactions are usually better than solos, plus this dude looks like a Temu version of Aaron Rodgers.
Me, now: "Sweet! New Alex video dropped!"
My first time I thought he was so annoying but now I love the energy he brings
Loved the "Editing Alex" wink in the corner.
I feel so sorry for Alex watching EVERY SINGLE MOVIE FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! He was really deprived as a child, they clearly never had a TV
@@martinjcooper1 or the more likely senerio. He's lying for views.
Tadashis name was dropped in one of iron man movies as engineer or something so pretty cool
“WHERE ARE THEY?!” 😂😂
I haven't even seen this it just started and I know you're going to go crazy over the aunt😂❤
The thumbnail is crazy
Why?
@@anunnacy ayo chill dude
@@megaxind16 Dude I am ^^ I was simply confused by all the comments thinking the thumbnail is "crazy" or "too much", that's all.
@@anunnacy these people don't really mean it. It's not like they're really complaining abt it. It's not that deep, chill.
Been waiting for a sequel to this movie since it came out. I know they made an animated show based on the movie, but I really would’ve loved to have seen sequel on the big screen.
If the aunt was a pixar mom. Or from the midwest or the south that thumbnail would be right.
My husband taught our grandson knucks with FALALALALA. GRANDSON IS NOW 4 and only does knucks with fallalalala
I can’t believe you just watched it for the first time because it’s been out for years and even when it released everyone still loved this movie and I do today
Most people I know haven’t seen this movie. Most adults aren’t “Disney Adults”. We don’t all watch children’s movies regularly.
@@cbraun4uExcept it's not a children's movie, it is a family movie
@@LeumazDnazor It was definitely intended for kids.
one of the greatest movies that is so underwatched. but was overshadowed by all the others that came out around that time.
That "WHERE ARE THEY" section with her increase in chest size part had me laughing out loud 😂
One of the voices was the same as tuffnuts from how ro train your dragon 😱
The editing in this is great
Fun fact, there was an anime series created by Stan Lee called Heroman. It even had a cameo of an animated Stan Lee, even though he spoke japanese. You should check it out.
Callaghan's daughter was a test pilot, she knew the risks, sure she trusted the people making decisions to keep her safe, but her death doesn't warrant a revenge story leading to death.
Brah, they knew the machine had a problem and still sent her…. Totally different if everything was working as planned and that happened.
Fun fact: if you look at HoneyLemon’s super purse, it has the elements of the periodic table. She is literally creating the formula, while in battle! It’s so freakin cool!
