Currently a dancer on Odyssey of the Seas!! Watching your videos helped me out so much preparing for my first contract & inspired me to make ship content on my channel! Have an amazing contract on Wonder! (& maybe we’ll port together in Cococay) :)❤
You just got a new Subscription.🎉 I am South African and going to work as a hairstylist for steiner in March 2024. Could you maybe interview or chat with the Hairstylists on Board please. ❤❤❤
I'll never work on a cruise ship (that ship sailed many years ago haha!), but those who may should certainly appreciate all your great advice. Nobody could be better organised than you are, Jordan. What really impresses me is how you stress the importance of the writing process in getting and staying organised. If only more people realised that. Lists, lists, lists! Nothing beats it. Looking forward to the videos to come. Bon voyage, Rupert. 🇨🇦
I love cruising and I love your content. I work for an Orlando Theme Park. I know all about long hours and it’s a great way to make sure you’re prepared I’m an avid list maker myself!!❤
I’m a bit of a traitor, I did work for Royal as youth staff but now jumped to Carnival, my experience when doing my medical for both, because I had to travel to do it, the doctor sent me the pathology request form for the bloodwork needed and the form for the chest X-ray so I had to get those done then I had my appointment to for the medical exam and got the fit for duty that day so very straightforward. When I was with Royal I got my flight details 35 days out from sign on along with hotel info, with Carnival, I’ve just accepted my second contract to start in may and I got my flight details within a few hours of accepting the contract, so now all that’s left is for my hotel details to be sent through. My contract is fairly standard like yours, one thing I have learned is that my additional duties I’m required to do may be a little different then previous contracts as varies from ship to ship.
@@deimantenorkute6762 It’s honestly hard to decide, they both have negative and positive experiences, there is just so many factors to think about for me to decide.
Thanks! Thanks for all your videos and tips honestly it’s helped me so much. It’s good to watch when you have absolutely no idea what to expect besides what they tell you. First hand experience is always better. Have fun on your contract! Hope you get to preform a lot. From what I have seen you’re an amazing skater. I would love to hear your moms experience with ice skating. I love that you share that together.
On the passport thing: make sure you send in your application with LOTS of time. I didn’t have a passport for years because I never went anywhere. I hadn’t been on a vacation in 15 years. So when my mom called me to tell me she booked a cruise for us last year, I sent my application in the next weekend (after getting everything I needed), and they had my application for 7 MONTHS. I didn’t get my passport until the night before we left and it was CHAOS. We had to leave at 3:30 am and drove 6 hours to the nearest passport office 2 days before the cruise so I could go and beg them to rush it. This was after months of calling and asking what was happening. Idk if that’s just in Canada, but that was a terrible, tear filled, anxiety ridden experience. So to everyone, make sure you get it renewed FAR before you need it. I’m super excited to see all the blogs from Wonder, Jordan and I hope you have a good contract!!
7 months?! Geez, I swear mine only took a couple of weeks (not Canada though). I think timeframes got blown out massively with covid though. Surely that isn't the normal timeframe.
I really want to work at a royal ship! Im a figure skater too. When I'm done with school here in Sweden I think I will apply! I have been on wonder, its amazing!
I worked on DCL Disney Dream for just one contract… besides the rules being too restrictive, the fact that I have a boyfriend at home didn’t help at all. I miss it though, and this video reminded me of all the things I did before heading to the ship
So ummm kinda have a question I hope you can help answer or find the answer, I’m a theatre major and I’m hoping to be a costume designer or stage manager and maybe act and sing when I can but I have a service dog, would a cruise line ever accept a service dog team as employees?
Hey Jordan!! Question for you - how long after you applied (first contract), did they notify of you of your hire and then how long after that before you were on a ship?
Jordan, Jordan, Jordan! Being a hopeless romantic and old enough to be your mother, I have to ask......is there any significance to that pretty little ring you're wearing on the ring finger of your left hand !?
She mentioned that her boyfriend won’t be on the ship and said she’d explain later. I wonder if this is what she’s going to explain or if it has anything to do with this 🤔
I went On wonder of the seas in sept I meet one dancer on boat I tell her about you and RUclips videos if she never meet you say say no but she going ask round see everybody’s meet you because I tell her I watch videos
I wouldn’t call her a primary entertainer. She doesn’t do a solo gig like a comedian for instance. She is part of the cast of a group of people (other skaters) she may be given a solo routine on show nights but she’s still part of the cast.

Hi Cassie, how does working as Youth Staff compare for both companies? Which one do you prefer and why?

@@cassiescriven9656 Could you explain more? I'm starting the same position on royal very soon and would love to know your insights.
Great advice, whether it's cruise ships or a land based contract! 😊💖🏴⛸️
Always enjoy your videos! Have you ever thought about doing a video on what you wish passengers knew before cruising?
that’s a good idea!🤩
i’m going to be starting my first contract! i’ll be on norwegian’s pride of america. this video really helped me out a lot, so thank you!
so glad to hear 👏
good tips, basic information, but useful
have fun on the WOTS
I am about to go to Pride of America so this was very helpful thank you so much! I’ll be going to training then boarding! I’m so excited 😆

Canada is typically 10 days for in-person and 20 days for mail. Something is missing from your story.
@@tomkearney3075 Yeah that sounds more like it. But I know there were massive wait times with covid.
@@eljj7968 Yep, They had no staff, basically. LOL. And planes were grounded so they didn't bother.
@@tomkearney3075 no it’s not. It was my experience. And it was not fun.
I also made quite a few copies of my documents for my previous contract. I'm joining the Norwegian Bliss next week :)
yessss !!! amazing! enjoy your contract
As a sister NCL worker my advice is stay strong! Remind yourself why you’re there and remember we get to freaking travel for free!!!
Nice video, Jordan, very succinct but filled with good info. Bon voyage 🛳️
Great video. Can you also recommend things we should do also to prepare to go on a cruise as a guest?
definitely can do something like this☺️
Good video, Jordan. You could/should put copies of all your docs on a flash drive. We do that even as passengers.
yup I do!! 1 step ahead of you! 🤗
@@jbauth Yay for us A-type OCD gals.

I am working on river cruise in Germany love your videos

Once you get the offer email when do you typically receive the contract?
I always print out my boarding pass just incase! I hope you have a wonderful contract and can’t wait to see your cruise ship content!
I take a screen shot of my boarding pass so I have access to it even if I have no wi-fi!
same!! always have like 3 copies of everything😝
Good luck
Hi Jordan 👋
I will be on wonder of the sea the week of April 9. Hope to see you at the ice show
Love your videos!
Hey Jordan!! Question for you - how long after you applied (first contract), did they notify of you of your hire and then how long after that before you were on a ship?
i was hired within a week! but the process for skaters is much different than other positions onboard
When does your contract start?
Jordan, Jordan, Jordan! Being a hopeless romantic and old enough to be your mother, I have to ask......is there any significance to that pretty little ring you're wearing on the ring finger of your left hand !?
She'll probably address it in another video 💜
I saw that in the last video too and was wondering??
She mentioned that her boyfriend won’t be on the ship and said she’d explain later. I wonder if this is what she’s going to explain or if it has anything to do with this 🤔
I pulled it up super close and it doesn’t look like an engagement ring. Just a fun costume jewelry piece
You and Me both~ I noticed in another video!!
NORWEGIAN I WILL BE ON SOON MY NAME IS VICENTE FROM PORTLAND OREGON
I went On wonder of the seas in sept I meet one dancer on boat I tell her about you and RUclips videos if she never meet you say say no but she going ask round see everybody’s meet you because I tell her I watch videos
Did you get your medical results in time to start this contract?
She did
As a primary entertainer why don’t you have a private room?
I wouldn’t call her a primary entertainer. She doesn’t do a solo gig like a comedian for instance. She is part of the cast of a group of people (other skaters) she may be given a solo routine on show nights but she’s still part of the cast.
