Recently, I have gotten pretty interested in military/vintage blades. Then, Montana Knife Company sends me their v24 Dagger just in time for me to geek the heck out. It is modeled after the V42, the military dagger designed during World War II to be given to the Devils Brigade, a.k.a. the first ever special forces unit (if you read the history on the formation of that it’s really interesting and those guys were badasses to the highest level). And now… I’m looking for an original V42 dagger. Similar thing just happened to me a couple of weeks ago, where I received the Böker Atropos folding dagger, modeled after the Applegate Folding dagger. I ended up snatching a vintage Applegate Folder off of eBay :) Fyi this model is $475 but I suppose people are willing to pay for it because it went out of stock fast lol
@@Freedom-vh5ne seeing as its a dagger, it will hopefully never see alot of use. Also seeing as its a tactical design and not something that you would ever display, its durability doesn’t really make the sale here. I have a similar sized dagger that I think cost me 30 bucks that I keep in one of my jackets. Ive never used it bc luckily ive never had to use it for its intended purpose. If I ever have to use it, im sure edge retention, tip durability, etc is the last thing ill be thinking about after the fact. If a dagger is going to cost this much it at least needs to be pretty
They coppied it from the British Fairbairn Sykes Commando 🗡 dagger. Where ours used a stacked leather handle some of theirs were wire wrapped some wood I heard some may have had thick Bakolite a pre plastic material that some pistol grips were made of besides radio knobs and buttons. If you see something made from the 20 through the 40s that looks looks and feels like plastic its not its Bakolite.
I will be completely honest, I thought you weren’t legit and were just a “pretty face” to get clicks, but I have to say I truly truly enjoy your reviews! I now believe you are actual a knife nut too! Thank you!!!🙏
@lukaslanger8077 the knife she shows in the video and the Smith and Wesson boot dagger are nearly identical in shape. That military original she shows in the video is very different in blade length and shape as well as the handle shape.
Im not knocking her knowledge as I belive she is reporting or touching on what information the manufacturer of the blade gave her. I'm informing others of the extreme similarity of this blade and the Smith and Wesson one.
Smith & Wesson H.R.T very similar knife, currently $21 on Amazon. I own about 10 and the first ones I got years ago weren't too sharp, but I bought a bunch last year to just stick everywhere, so I'm never without a knife and they all came razor sharp, so they obviously fixed their QC issues. I highly recommend it if this is the style you're looking for and can't afford crazy prices. I've seen them even cheaper than the current $21, but even that's a steal.
I'm sorry I got to say I've been watching you for a while you have some of the biggest collections of knives you're a very smart woman and I love the same thing you love but I think what makes it more interesting as you
I love blades and I appreciate the work and design that goes into them. But I simply don’t see how many justify their cost. How are they hundreds of dollars? They are nearly as much as a firearm that has much more engineering and research put into them.
Damn I just bought the tekto a3 delta because i saw it on your page and I thought that was super expensive. I can't see myself spending pistol money on a knife right now but it does look very stabby.
That knife is so sick! I would pay $200. Maybe $300 for one but not $475 LOL. I'm sure it's worth it if you were in a profession where you would need such a thing, but I just can't justify it.
In NC, knives sharp on both sides are illegal. Not sure why that is, but then, who knows what decisions the government makes to give us "permission" to own 😏.
The Devil's Brigade was a joint U.S. & Canadian special force...the first of its kind. The Nazis were justifiably fearful of the Devil's Brigade, not only because of the unit's extraordinary combat capabilities but also because of one very scary tactic that was used on occasion. The Devil's Brigade was noted for sneaking up on sleeping Nazis and slitting the throats of every second or third Nazi in his bed, leaving the rest undisturbed. In the morning the Nazi soldiers were awaken to the sight of some of their comrades' dead, with slit throats. This caused great concern and terror, as they now felt totally unsafe with these Devil soldiers able to enter their camp and kill whoever they wished. Great psychological warfare. It was the Germans who gave them the name, "Devil soldiers".
HEHEHEH.......GOOFY.......WAS HAVING FLASH BACKS A HEART THING WOOOOOOO WOOOOOO A LEGEND MADE.......GOOFY.......AMAZING Trip Trippy Sweet Home Alabama Wave

Do you have any Randall Model 1’s or 2’s? Those are the knife to get if you like vintage military designs!
I had a 4" Applegate folder from Gerber for years, then I upgraded to a 3" auto version and lost it 2 months later😢
Its too expensive..
How sharp is the edge?
475 bucks?? That is Insane!
No pumpkin is safe when the Queen of Knives is around 😂
I always kind of feel bad for the pumpkin.
@MelissaBackwoods the pumpkin just happens to be the most exploited gourd.
Бедная тыковка((😢
She's a work of art 💞
A mere $475, at that gas station price, I'll take a whole case!
Lmao. Exactly what I was thinking.
If you’re good at not losing or breaking things you could pass it on to your kids if you have them.

Look up smith and Wesson boot knife it’s the same exact knife I have one
Для пьяных разборок ,отличная вещь.
Awesome knife 🗡. I love it.
I’ve always been kind of fond of the Fairburn Sykes knife.
“FAIRBAIRN” made a real nice knife style.
The new Bokors are very similar to col.Fairbaine's original drawings.
I will be purchasing a reproduction or vintage one soon
Nice profile on that dagger. Great compact size too.
The 1st SF unit was the SAS, and the original knife you showed was modelled after the Fairbairn Sykes knife.
There she is showing another knife. Nice dagger 🗡

Is Bakolite different than Bakelite?
Too bad it’s missing the fairbairn/Sykes thumb recess
For some reason I just love all of Melissa’s videos!! 😊
Hi Melissa, this is Harry from 🇮🇳 I love your knife collection and style of presentation ✨️
Вижу ножик , ставлю лайк Мелиссе❤
Melissa is getting stabby with that pumpkin 😂
I apologize and took him out for dinner later
I apologized and took him out for dinner later
@@MelissaBackwoods well that was nice of you
Hot looking knife and Melissa looks dangerous with it.
Lots of "stabby stabby" in that one. Great video! 👍
Thank You Melissa 😊
That poor pumpkin had a family haha
สวยครับเห็นแล้วชอบเลย เล็กกระทัดรัด สมส่วน อยากได้ครับ😊

YOUR ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!
i like your paint...
Why does Melissa stabbing things get me excited?
🔪
Mel gets the Stabbing Zoomies! 😂
Looks more like it was modeled after the Smith and Wesson boot dagger from the early 2000's
Lmao my thought exactly
Probably the boot dagger was also a fairbairn knock off?

That looks Awesome 😮😊
Looks like a smoky mountain toothpick.
Man, you have the In with these awesome blade companies. You show great knives that are hard to get.
Badass 🗡 dagger!! Love your vids melissa.
Beautiful dagger!! Gotta get one!
Nice blade, and as always you're awesome 😊😊
Now that dagger seems well crafted.
So pretty ❤
That’s a cool looking knife. Nice knife to carry in a SHF scenario
Beautiful blade and a great handle 👌 i like alot
That's a nice piece of rib tickling hardware. Yep, found a new EDC. Much like the creator of this content, stunning and deceptively lethal.
blade and sorcery common dagger ahh knife
That's awesome... your river looks just like the one I live by
NOTE TO SELF:
Don't make Melissa mad Mr.Pumpkin
Absolutely gorgeous metal
Toujours aussi charmante !
I used to have a boot knife that was very similar. The handle design made it harder to drop if it were to get wet with water, blood, etc.
Cool lil dagger! 😎
that is one beautiful knife
Cool!! Looks like my grandpas ww2 tank dagger
Poor pumpkin ! I'm so sad. Now Melissa you'll have to cook a soup for halloween 🎃

❤😂 beaauutifuuiiilll good work.
It's looks so pretty... and super deadly. Realistically, I'd have no use for it...bad damn I want it
I'm sorry I got to say I've been watching you for a while you have some of the biggest collections of knives you're a very smart woman and I love the same thing you love but I think what makes it more interesting as you
Poor pumpkin never stood a chance!
Nice knife, but $475? My wallet says I’ll just have to watch M enjoy her stab session
Ah, the stabbing method of Halloween pumpkin carving. The slasher movie vibe works particularly well for that. 😁
Any recommendations for Fairbairn-Sykes styles?
I would go with Case. They were the original producers of the ones for the devils brigade and they still make them!
A simple skean dhu
You never mentioned the make and model of the knife!
MKC Tactical V24
You scare me in a good kind of way
That looks sharp
So cute dagger
Looks nice
Not me showing this video as a hint to my wife for Christmas...

I love it like u
Liike it , looks so danger
Nice blade Ms. Lady 🦅🫡

Excellent
Love it❤
Nice! But i love my Muela 8 inch fixed..👍🎟

There are copies of the V22 on Amazon that are $50-100. $475 is insane.
Omg I want one! :)

She is great
Perfect size as a paring knife, great for fillets you can go forward and back while cleaning a fish with that double blade edge.
Good movie, you should watch that.
Sick yo
$475? Insane. Think I'll get the Spartan Les George Raider instead if I want a military inspired knife.
Ima just use a steak knife from dollar general
I had the OG Dagger when I was a kid! The sheath had leg straps and I would carry it on my calf under my jeans lol
beutiful knife like beautiful melissa! 😊 sending love here in philippines!
😂 I do the same thing when I get a new knife.
Lol, that pumpkin is the obituaries.
You have a spetsnaz?
Sweet. You're right, iconic. Still carry SOG Pentagon(s) .

Pumpkins fear 2 people, Melissa and Brynn Woods 😅🤣
Used to have 2 Smith & Wesson boot knives that had a shorter handle but looked almost like that knife. Handles were also black.
You are correct.
My favorite knife is my Fairbain- Sykes commando dagger
I kind of like it it's like the fairburn Sykes
If i was walking thru the woods and came upon you stabbing a pumpkin and talking to yourself, i would run away...
Beautiful and deadly! Just like my wife 😆👍
I haven't seen that one at any auction I have been to but now I will look harder
I have watched some of your videos. If someone messes with you, they would be in big trouble!
You're "intimidating", but in a good way
And the tip will break trying to take a staple out 😂
Ow yess I like this!
Ok that pumpkin tasted too much 18 stab wounds you can tell it was personal xd
Let's see an M3 trench knife soon. Yeah, let's gooooo! 🎉
