Why are we defining by size? Um because I want to know what sizes to try on? Yes it can vary depending on store and brand but that's why you have a starting point then you go up or down from there. It's not like I'm going to walk into a clothing store and when they ask me if I need help I'm going to be all "Yes do you have a pair of jeans in a "Damn I look good in these" size? Now could all be accurate and stick with the same measurements for the same sizes that would be great.
they're starting to do that more in the US now too, thankfully. but some lie about an inch. so they'll say it's 29 inch waist but really it's for 30..just to make someone fit.
Tanya Ascencio When I was young you could go into a store and pick out 4 to 5 pairs of pants in your size and try them on to find the style that would fit you best. Now you have to pick 3 different sizes of the same pair in the hope you picked right. Shopping for clothing was so much nicer back I the old days. I wish they would bring back the old standards, even if I end up wearing a much bigger size. At least cloth shopping won't be a nightmare.
Why not just do inches around the waist like the men do? When I find a retailer that is TRUE to size, I rejoice.
Doctor Blonde Then everyone would complain about the industry making them feel bad about themselves
Doctor Blon
Doctor Blonde A size 34 in men's pants can be 3 to 6 inches bigger. The number means nothing now.
...but a lot of women's pants do. I wear a 29 in real denim (not stretchy, the old school denim) and it's STILL different from brand to brand...
This is the reason why I hate buying clothes, especially pants online!

Yeah it's terrible really, for the retailers own profit margins with no real benefit to the customer. *shake my head*
