- Irish MEP Aodhan O Riordain called for sanctions against Israel, including scrapping the EU-Israel trade deal, in his opening speech to the European Parliament. He further highlighted the current situation in Gaza, calling it a “total humanitarian catastrophe,” and added that “only real, tangible action against Israel can stop the suffering” in Gaza.

It was automatic after the 7th of Oct when it came to European funding for the PA in the West Bank. It was again automatic when Israel accused UNRWA staff of participating in the attack. When it comes to arms for little Hitler, as he plunges the Middle East into chaos, we need to be very careful and considerate though

Finally somebody is talking about the trade agreement which by the way has a human rights clause in it. That agreement should have been ripped up a long time ago. The torture prisons are on Israe!i soil not in the occupied territories, which means they´re committing crimes against humanity in Israe! itself and as of now the EU is complicit. At the very least the agreement must be changed because it includes trade with settlements (for some years now the products must me marked so consumers in the EU know that it comes from Israe!i settlements) which according to the ICJ is illegal.

Wouldn't recommend it tbh. It's expensive, full of ugly towns and architecture, awful public transport, and the weathers shite. Slovenia's much nicer, cheaper, and maybe the only Slavic country that isn't pro-Israel.

I am a true European, i am so glad that we didn’t have war between any of the EU members since the end of WW2 but the response of the EU executive towards what happens in Gaza and the West Bank, Palestine, is appalling. It will change my interaction with the European endeavour.
