Had a gas engine chipper like this one, sold it. On hot days it would vapor-lock. The stupid little plastic fuel line fittings would loosen up after a couple of years and allow air in the lines. Replaced all of the fuel lines with Napa Vapor Gaurd and went to automotive aftermarket AN fittings which solved the air leak problem. Diesel is way more reliable.
Gas is a good option, a friend of mine has a big tree business and he got all bandit chippers biggest being the 21xp, that’s diesel but all the new ones he’s buying are gas. Easier to maintain and don’t have to worry about emmisions giving you problems during emergency storm cleanup. Congrats on the purchase!
I like the fact that it is yours Tim. Man, many many congratulations to you sir for being the go getter that you are. Today I saw a business that said" because of the shortage of labor, they will not operate on Monday and Tuesdays." Here is a man that is looking for work and invested tons of money to work and isn't afraid of work. Can someone tell me what is wrong that picture? I certainly don't think it is because there is a shortage of people.
Nice machine, yeah that winch will come in hand trying to chip up some big ol loblolly or oak limbs. We run the 12 inch version of this, great piece of equipment.
That’s an awesome looking machine! Super happy for you... can’t wait to see it in action and how it holds up for you... I’ll be shopping for mine next year
New chipper looks great. Be sure your ground man understands the dangers of ropes near the feed chute and how quickly the rope can wrap the chipper drum. August Hunicke has a impressive hydraulic screw log splitter quick attach that easily splits logs with the mini skid steer to keep the chipper processing larger logs.
Great looking machine. Hopefully, it will serve you for many of years. I know your channel is mostly dealing with trees and their removal. I notice that you have several ponds and you near a lake, have you done any fishing videos.
Nice brother I Just got a new bandit 19xpc with a big John Deere diesel a few weeks back it’s a beast got all bandit chippers some with 20k hours they are great machines
@@cotontop3 don’t forget it’s 2021 if you wait till you need it you will be waiting even longer! , FYI I went with a Handsfree screw splitter 15 years ago, not one problem a friend of mine used it and bought one he was so impressed with price and performance, I have 2 -kx057-4’s, keep em coming 💪
Winch is so handy the company I work for they only by gas powered chippers now . The Diesel engines have to many problems because of pollution control systems.
Those are called last chance cables. You’re supposed to try to grab one if you go to get sucked into the chipper but from my observation, you’re already toast if you get into the feed wheels.
I was impressed with the gas engine on Johnny’s Vermeer. Seemed pretty quiet. Is that a 6.2 liter? Was the warranty any different between the engine options?
Is there a spare tire in case a piece of rebar in a yard eats a tire? Probably safer to hazard tape off the wood chipper so no untrained people get near it. Lasco might work as a cone splitter, more than 5 different models for a 5 ton mini-excavator. Might find a safer kindling splitter than Hunter was using last wood season, to run alongside the chipper.
What a machine. I bet that thing will be a hog. Cool thing is you know all about replacing teeth, hydraulics, etc. So, maintenance on this machine won't be much of a challenge. It will be interesting to see how long a set of teeth last before needing flipped or sharpened or replaced. You never hear much on the maintenance aspect of these things and how much is involved and how often. I have considered getting a small chipper but I think for how often I would use it, I might be as far off to rent one for a week to clear fence rows and field edges.
Tim, with the way you are buying equipment, are you expecting your father to retire soon? I know you said something about that a year or two ago and the situation was unclear on what would happen when he does. Do you think you still want to run logs with your brothers if and when you father goes out? or is this stuff where you want to go after then? or is this more your side gig to fill your down days? how are your kids and wife, haven't seen you much with them here lately and not that I need to know, just hope everyone is doing well.
how does this big guy do on fuel being gas only down fall i see is every thing else is diesel you have on your jobs but then in if they have this chipper doing well on fuel and on a good sized tank you should be trouble free as for the 15 vs the 18 inch chipper i bet you could take 1 of each size and they will run pretty dang close to each other
Do you work for Trax?? Feel free to email me at northpointwelds@gmail.com if you'd like some unvarnished insight into fixing that Chinese crap. Poorly done Komatsu copy..... we'll not even get into the "why" of supporting the geopolitical nemesis of the USA.
Grab one of these chooks for your winch line, makes it super easy to choke anything. and if it does go into the chipper it wont damage anything. www.sheltertree.com/1899-36639/tools/chippers-and-grinders_tools/yale-replacement-chook.aspx
Congratulations!!! You are going to love that machine!! We love our 15s 🇺🇸

Very nice Tim. When i used to work for the city, we had those exact chippers. No issues, and gas also. Less headache for the gas model.
Also Tim what Ford engine is in that beast?

Leave the manual jack in place and add the electric jack on the other side..
Nice machine Tim. Since you have hydraulics I would skip the electric jack and plumb in a diverter valve and get a Stillwell hydraulic tongue jack.
Happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy Birthday Have a blessed day Tim

Good choice ya can't beat Bandits service. I get the pleasure of running their big machines all over the country.
Congratulations on your new peace of equipment
Looks to be a good machine. I wish you well in your venture..
Nice machine cant wait to see it work glad it is all coming together for you..
That is a nice machine. We use Carlton chippers and stump grinders.
Sweet machine Tim! Enjoy! Should provide many years of service if taken care of.
Can’t wait to see that beast working nice looking piece of equipment
Great looking machine. Plenty of chipping will be done
Good luck with the new chipper, you made a great choice !
Good looking piece equipment. Keep up the great work.
Great machine for tips, tops, and some dog hair on a smaller scale operation.
Been following you a long time. Proud of you sir! hope one day I’ll have my excavation business going one day

Excellent choice is going to do your grinding. Its going to do a good job for you.

Heck yeah, I bet it is a beast 💪🏻
Pretty strong system! Congrats!
Nice machine! They are good chippers
Very nice. Man has a plan and a vision.
Congratulations Tim
Mighty stuff Tim, fine machine, well wear, very nice:):)
Very nice hope it works great for you Can't wait to get a video of it in action keep up the good work man
that covered shelter is getting crowded with machines! ;-)
We have a screw splitter for our mini and an 18” chipper nothing we can’t handle, makes piles real fast
That is my plan- to get a screw for my mini once I need it.

How do you like it we run 18 xp and 1990s if you load with a machine the winch gets in the way sometimes

NICE 👍.. keep on cutting!!
Congratulation sir on your new chipper, it's a nice one.
Time for some Cotontop3 decals on Chippy!
nice chipper, good choice for your target market area and market
That Is a nice place of machinery wish you lived closer to me I could use it
Nice chipper Tim
Sweet add on to your business
What is the purpose of the 2 cables hanging down in the hopper just in front of the infeed rollers?

@@cotontop3 Yeah... I think you're right... Are they connected to the emergency stop?
Looks great.
good luck with that beast
Congrats!
Should put a hitch on the front of the 550.
Check out the chipper safety video that August Hunicke did recently - and what happens if a rope gets into the drum
Impressive machine

we haveour blades sharpen when they get dull at our dealer
Nice machine Tim 👍👍
Looks great !!
Awesome machine
Can’t wait to see that thing eat!! Are you just going to pile the chips up on the ground until the dump trailer arrives? Have a great weekend.
Man when you get into something you go all out
Make sure to use good grease.
Im suprised the back dont fold up like a vermeer. But our little bandit was nice back in the day.
Those chippers r bad ass
Tim nice chipper

YOU'LL BE HAPPY WIYH IT.
What kind of ford motor does it have?
It’s a 6.2 liter.
I’m surprised you didn’t go for a bigger unit
Nice. Great video
You going to sell chips? Im in the area and always needing them for my chickens.
I will be in the future
Mr. Cotton: Are you going to have a truck to blow the chips in?
He talked about a dump trailer for the chips

He working 3 days a week in the woods and rest doing his own thing. He had done a live stream talking All about it.
Nice nice I’m sure that will do the job Tim keep moving forward have a great day 👍
Nice 👍
Surprised you didn’t go with a diesel so you could fill it with your transfer tank
You must not have got to the part where I said it was $22,000 more for a diesel and then have to deal with a DEF system.
@@cotontop3 yea I typed that prematurely. Lesson learned lol. But $22k just to upgrade to a diesel is insane
That's a big chipper you know it's heavy when it's got 17.5 wheels.

You can as well sharpen your blades before purchasing new several times..
nice
