Slavs from the word "Slava" which means Glory, or "slavniy" - glorious/kind. Noone would call themselves slaves. That's what western propoganda trying to convince everybody. There's many different nationalities that are slavic that lived long before English language found out about them. Like there were many different tribes in Northern America and they all called Indians.
