Easy enough to say, but it's really tough when you're a full time college student like many of my peers. Just insurance in many of these zip codes costs me upwards of $1900 for 6 months, for basic coverage. That's not including the cost of gas, registration, and repairs (necessary due to the sheer amount of salt needed on our roads in the winter).

I truly believe that there's a better solution to this from both parties: Either find another bidder to operate the bus 🚌 network or have the MTA takeover the Bee-Line, rebrand as the MTA Metro North Bus, redesign the bus network, and place additional order for more busses, and hire more bus drivers under the MTA banner.

As an employee of Liberty Lines I can tell you first hand that issues persist I’ve worked at Publicly Run Transit agencies that do a superb job this public private partnership that the county of Westchester has is disastrous take for instance the fact that there’s no service on Thanksgiving or Christmas that’s un fathomable another thing is running routes on an hourly frequency on Sunday’s because most of the work force is off on the weekends Public Transportation is supposed to take cars off the road but in some places they are forcing them back on the road because the system isn’t working as designed the MTA has the resources I believe the county doesn’t want to pay the price for the services Nassau,Suffolk & Westchester counties should form a Tri-County Authority under the MTA bringing back the Metropolitan Suburban Bus Authority (MSBA) splitting the operating cost 3 ways and giving the Bus Operators the choice of transferring to Depots throughout the the 3 divisions during the system pick like they do over at NYCT/OA/MTABC or just merge them into MTABC
