    I feel like at times Evan is a little scared? I guess you can call it that. It's as if Evan doesn't want to take risks and do pushes because he doesn't want Hal to get upset or he doesn't think Hal would agree with the play

      @@CallerEight true, except for the snipe thing. The snipe comment is meant as in don’t talk back, do exactly what you’re told. But that’s just losing on what Verhulst brings to the table then. And Ik that reps is able to go next after being spoken to like that, but after so long your mental has to take a toll. Especially when Hal yelled that bubble was thrown at the enemy team, but the edge of bubble was right in front of them anyways.

      I think it's more because of EU and a few other regions discovering how good certain legends are at countering others as well as the legends taking on more roles.

    Game 1 was less toxic than some of the other moments from Hal. He actually communicated the specific criticism of Rep's play. Sometimes, he's just angry and lashes out without actually pointing to anything to improve.
    The last game you showed is a perfect example of NON-TOXIC passionate criticism. People like to say "he's not toxic, he's just passionate!" when that's clearly not the case. Why is the last game non-toxic? There's yelling, but its about the specific actions that were taken, and it leads to an honest and productive discussion. Big on Hal for accepting ownership, and for the other guys for giving him feedback.
    Toxic behavior would have been, and has been in the past - asking irrelevant questions that are meant to demean your teammates and make yourself feel better. One example I've heard from Hal: "Jordan, how do you do NO DAMAGE, as GIBBY? I just don't understand" that doesn't help anyone.

    My personal theory as to why the competitive meta has been so diverse lately is counter-intuitively, because valk and gibby are so strong.
    I think that the valk/gib ‘core’ is so solid that it leaves the third legend as a flex pick that can fulfill specific niches instead of necessities like rotating/defense/resetting.
    On the other hand, because valk and gibby are so strong, it makes legends that can counter them so much more valuable. Like the crypto/watson team that shut tsm’s oob attempt down in game 3

    I give Reps a lot of credit for putting his ego aside and understanding that Hal is a man of PASSION lol at the same time, however, I would think that there comes a point, like in any relationship, where being talked down to (or just in a certain way) may start to take a toll, especially if the collective goals aren't exactly coming to fruition. Not that those instances can't be reconciled, but over a long period of time with added individual frustration, it can add up and start to mess with your head a little, even unconsciously. They've been doing this for so long (Hal and Reps) with little change to their dynamics it seems. They gotta spice things up a bit, maybe let Reps take some more responsibility, change up the roles or something. Go out on a date night, get some dinner, see a movie, IDK. Every relationship can use some shaking up to reset and put it back into perspective from time to time.

    The problem with a lot of these pro groups is that the company only cater to them and they make a lot of decisions based on what pros say not taking into the consideration what the actual community is saying, the game has changed dramatically because of what the pros say meanwhile Most of the community isn’t even pro.

    I think it comes down to what Hal believes he needs to say to the person at the time. Whether that's from knowing the person a long time/working with them for a while or just understanding someones skillset better. Just because you treat 2 people completely different when giving criticism or feedback doesn't mean either way is right or wrong. Telling Evan(Verhaulst) hey man, be confident kick ass like you do, probably works great for him. Letting him know he supports his decisions. Reps doesn't seem like the guy who needs that reassurance. He knows Hal trusts him to do his job.

  • @youngboppy715
    @youngboppy715 2 года назад

    I can feel where Hal is coming from, if you lead a team there is only so much you can do to win and he has to make the big decisions. So if he says to bubble and you sit there and scratch your ass he has to scream at you its just the way it is.

  • @CptRexFilms987654321
    @CptRexFilms987654321 2 года назад

    Yeah I started noticing that the yelling and the screaming is useful in an effort to break through the brainfog. You have to like break through the confusion so both can be aligned on to what's happening/happened. Then there is the case with other teams that are always on the same page, so there isn't a need for screaming. But there is purpose to the yelling, its not to be hateful. Took me a while to realize that with TSM

    Every other team coming second place in Sweden would be great for them, Tsm however that’s not the case. If they don’t come first it’s disappointing. That’s how good and successful they’ve been in big tournaments
