    Headband
More Material details & alternate options:
Tape: clear tape, ideally; A stapler can be used instead of tape.
    Paper:
Essential: One piece of red paper for the crown; The red paper can be poster board, construction paper, colored copy paper (red Astrobright cardstock), gift wrap, repurposed gift bag, or custom colored/painted paper; The pattern will fit easily within an 8.5” x 11” page ; Stiff paper like cardstock or poster board can help make your creation more durable, but it is not essential.
Optional: 2 sheets of scrap copy paper for developing the pattern; A pattern temple is also available online, if printing is an option for you.
Headband: Rigid & narrow (less than 1” wide) will work best; Soft elastic headbands can work too; 2 pipe cleaners, yarn or ribbon long enough to tie around your head can also work as an improvised headband; Any color is fine!
    Optional Materials:
Colors: red crayon, colored pencil or marker; red paint
Pompoms: 5 red pompoms or 5 large red sequins; about 1/2”-1” wide
Glue: hot glue (useful if you plan to add pompom/sequin decorations); White glue (also known as school glue or tacky glue - useful for adding decorations); glue stick (useful for backing flimsy red decorative paper to stiffer paper for support)
