My husband and I were married on Mackinaw Island in 1996. We had 23 wonderful years together before his sudden death in 2019. When I listen to this beautiful, haunting song, my heart aches for him. He's my one true love, my eternal, forever love. I can't wait to see him again.
So sweet ❤️
❤
It is awfully sad to lose someone you've loved, I know, but you do have your memories and they are forever valuable to you!
Beijos
Claudia from Brazil💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛
Extremely beautiful that communion of music and video. Almost I cannot write this words because a lump in the throat and the tears in my eyes would not let me
This beautiful music was played at our 18 year old son’s funeral.
He died after a 4 month battle with cancer.
We had seen the movie as a family, not long before he got sick.
It is a continuing link to our precious firstborn. We live with that hope of meeting up with him somewhere down the road, somewhere in time! Love you forever Marc xoxo❤
😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏
I am sure you will.....
I can't believe that there are people out there, that gave this beautiful theme a thumbs down. 😳
Feel like you. Maybe the thumbs down signals deep suffering with self hate not recognized. Any beauty or love is rejected. I've been a psychoanalyst for five decades. Seen this in myself and countless others.
They don't know true music
Some of the most beautiful music ever written
I think it's because people have the attention span of a gnat nowadays. If it's not immediate bombardment of strong pleasure sensations, they quickly tune out.
I love this so much. It's beautifully and brings me to tears at the same time ❤🌹
My wife and I loved this song/ movie since 1980 and we listened to it so very often, she’s gone now 20 years and listening to this brings tears of a loved one gone but not forgotten, Ohh how o miss you Marian
Você amigo,me emocionou com sua linda história...Um dia você a reencontrará...Um grande amor nunca vai embora.É eterno...!
Love 😍 this song so much for my dear husband in Heaven
Ave Maria Gratia Plena......Amen 🙏❤
For me, this is the most Beautiful music, most relaxing, most engrossing, most ethereal - it is just so magical
I saw this movie the day it premiered in LA in 1980 and was so enchanted by it, that I sat through it FOUR (4) times the day it opened. I saw it another 10 or 15 times BEFORE it left circulation. I was a single 26 year old male who wished and hoped I'd find a woman I could love as much as RICHARD COLLIER loved ELISE MCKENNA. Sadly, that never happened, but I remained in the military and carried a copy of this film, a CD with the Soundtrack and a DVD player with me whenever I deployed overseas. It got me through some very tough times. Thank you Chris, Jane, the rest of the cast and John Barry for this evocative and haunting music. RIP CHRIS REEVE!
@lisa gaye Lisa, I am so pleased to have read your comments. Did you know that the movie has a fan club? It's called INSITE for "International Network of Somewhere In Time Enthusiasts. I've written for their journal in the past. I also had the MOST HELPFUL review of the movie at Amazon, but Amazon took it down when they changed the policy of only posting reviews by verified purchasers. My review also garnered about 50 separate comments by people who at first thought it was a woman who wrote it and then were surprised to find out that a young man of 26 had.
I also had the great and good luck to be invited to the 20th Anniversary showing of the movie at the AMC 25 Cineplex in NYC. I'd previous met Chris Reeve (he was wheelchair bound at this point) and was introduced to Jane Seymour - she asked me if I was the author of the review at Amazon and I told her that I was. I admitted to still having a huge crush on her and she laughed and hugged me. I would suggest you look up INSITE and contact them if you'd like to connect with like-minded lovers of this enchanting and haunting film.
Before I forget, yes I did read BID TIME RETURN by Richard Matheson and after having done so, made a point of staying at Hotel Del Coronado on a trip to San Diego. Thank you for your note and I hope you will continue to find happiness SOMEWHERE IN TIME.
"Excess within control."
Pal True Love will find you, you just have to be patient. The world is such a different place now. Fate will quite you have faith. I hope since your comments Life has been kind. Just don’t wish too hard. A second glance will suddenly will be the one. Best from Australia ❤️🇦🇺❤️
I listen to this at least once a week and it takes me out of my depression. It’s Magnificent.
I first heard this in 1982 after the movie “Somewhere in Time” I learned to play it on the piano as I play by ear as well as music
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.I play a trumpet, and appreciate music that stirs my soul. I never tire of listening to this masterpiece of melody and loving feeling.
Words can't describe this music
Genius of Classical Music
You're right! ♥ ️👍
Christ: You are correct.Try Reflections Of Passion by YANNI.I promise youll meet heaven.
I can think of 2 words. Absolutely gorgeous.
Not just words, meaning, feelings, like u been there,
Considering this music came out so long ago. It will always be one of the most beautiful pieces that any orchestra has ever played . I tear up every time this wonderful piece!!!
Most amazing film and music of my lifetime and I’m hitting 70.
Paul Wilson, me too! And I'll be 60 in July. Happy 70th birthday to you, cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 🍸
If you have ever lost someone to the other side, this gets to your heart.
Just before Christmas mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and in under 5 weeks moved into a hospice for end-of-life care. I first heard this on Classic FM TV in 2005/2006. She loved it, and was always tearful listening to.
In a raw moment yesterday, I was at her bedside, holding her hand, and started playing it. We were softly crying, and as the piece progressed, were started sobbing hard, both of us burying our heads in our free hand. In that moment, the profundity of mutual grief was enormous. The eternal love we have for each other, and the deep depths of pain we feel in losing each other far too soon.
The power of every kiss, every cuddle, every smile, every joke, every moment of fun, silliness, compassion, all the nights she tucked me into bed as a child, felt my pain through growing up, cheered on my successes, and ultimately longing to see my life continue to blossom came through in that moment. We both know we are so loved by the other and I wish I didn't have to let her go this soon. She really is one of the special ones, kind and gentle down to her bones, and always a source of grounding and reassurance. I'm seeing her now as much as I can, but we don't have long, so I'm trying to stretch every minute out as far and as deep as it can go.
And I will live thoughtfully, making choices that, if I were to call her up and tell her about them, she'd smile with happiness for me, in her ever giving and ever loving way.
I watched this film with the person that became my husband. 36 years later he has left me. This music lifts my spirit and gives me hope that I will be able to lift my head up and carry on.
How can i forget this song when i always remember someone somewhere in time
Love this ,although it makes me feel sad, thinking of my dear husband ,and all of my loving family and friends ,all gone but never forgotten . Xx
Probably this is the best piece of classical music I have ever listened to.
e muito lindo.

Uma das músicas mais bela do mundo ❤ Perfeita harmonia, de som,com acordes delicados.
This music was made in Heaven. Guess the people who gave a thumbs down will never hear it.
This was the most beautiful song and movie I have ever seen in my lifetime. My very favorite song. Thank you ☺️
I hope somewhere in time I can meet up with my husband Keith who left nearly two years ago and we can listen to this beautiful music together again. Every single note in this music tugs my heart!
I can relate. Lost my wife in 2009 at age 46. She was the sweetest person and loved life. Miss her everyday.
Im not a love story guy, but when i watched this movie 25 yrs ago, it pierced my heart. I’m married now, still it moves me everytime i listen to the song, for me its the best”TRUE LOVE” movie ever, never seen such like this in this empty generation
This beautiful piece of music touches my heart everytime I listen to it. Its sadness brings tears to my eyes ...remembering lovely memories long gone and wished that I could relive them again. So beautiful..
I was a musician for 36 years and this is one of those songs that once youstart listening to it you cant turn it off. I absolutly love it.
Same here Kirney! 😞
Yes for sure
One of the most beautiful piece of music ever composed. This music is forever
It's beautiful, I just came out from the hospital with pneumonia and corona virus and I beat it, but listening to this music
This music touches my soul, it is simply exotic.❤
I just love listening to the beautiful five and six not chords Maksim uses in his performance!
A most beautiful piece. My heart races every time I hear this. Slowly I get tears. And I slowly smile thinking of my true love my soulmate and so thankful we finally met. I am 12 years older than he is. Age is just a number I have never been happier. I have never felt so at home. I knew when the time was right our paths would cross. Now until the end of time we are one. Forever together.
You are lucky, and I am very happy for you.
This music temporally takes you back to what really matters in life. Maybe God will play this when believers are entering our Heavenly home.
This is one of my favorite music that I dont get tired listening to, it takes me out of this world and dream of my life I didnt have 😢😢😢 its just so beautiful....
" Come back to me" said the old woman, as she handed him the watch. Beautiful.
Knowing this was my favorite movie and favorite piece of music ever, I chose to use it as my processional in my wedding and have my dad escort me to my husband.
One of my life's most beautiful moment's.
Rest in Peace dear Christopher. You will always be remembered and loved.
HE WAS SUPERMAN#BESTSUPERMANEVER
When is the last time you’ve heard anything as beautiful?❤️🙏🏻
Rarely. There may have been others close but none tops this one.
Today
My wife fell in love with this song when she heard it in, "Some where in time."
Me too
I am still on my journey with my wife and children but this song reminds me of two beautiful souls that have been lost: Christopher Reeves and his lifelong friend Robin Williams.
I saw these movie when I was 21 yrs old with my crush, and now I am 62 yrs old and still listening and watching these movie.
I can’t hold back my tears whenever I hear this melody as it reminds me of the beautiful memories I shared with my husband who passed away 11 years ago he was my everything and my true love
Victoria, ten years ago my love went to say hello to God. I know the pain...it never dissipates.
We played this beautiful theme at my mothers funeral. Now whenever I hear it, it’s difficult not to think of her.
When i think of true love i think of - a tear at a time, one by one.
I don't think there is a single language that could describe the beauty of this music and the feelings it evokes in a person.
Totally agree Jane. Ups and downs in a marriage of 36 years. Watching both my parents die too young. Miss Christopher and his wife who left this earth to soon. Listen to this often. 😔
I have been in beautiful places similar to the sceneries in this. Listening and watching brings happiness and melancholy ,transporting me back to my youth. I am 78yrs old .
Thank you so much.
Never get tired of listening to this.
Because of the movie Somewhere in Time my wife and I took our kids to stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in the mid 90's. Wonderful place and it was like going back in time. This song always reminds me of that wonderful trip.
My beautiful wife passed away in 2022. I am aware of your pain and sadness of a beloved one
who was taken by the Lord.
My fervent wish is to unite with her and be a couple again. God blessed her always.
The photography, my God, our Earth is so beautiful. I get so caught up in all the bad things happening in the news, and see such devastation everywhere, then I’m reminded by these images how much beauty we still have. This music and composer, my favorite.
This is the most beautiful music. John Barry you were a genius it calms the heart and speaks volumes to lovers and the elderly remembering love and even heart ache it’s simply Devine. I love it thank you for real music. Linda. X with love
It's the the most beautiful music I've heard in my life
One of the best tunes ever written! I live near Mackinac Island where this movie was filmed! I never tire of it and in fact, I did a video of the island I live on for RUclips a couple years back, with this song!
Somewhere Un Time....Christopger Reeves and Jane Seymore. One of my favorite movies. This is the one that made me stand up and really take notice to soundtrack music. I have since started a collection of great music from many movies. Music gives movies so much more meaning. So much would be lost without these beautiful musical pieces
We visited Mackinac Island in the early 1990's with our sons. It's like going back in time with horse-drawn carriages for getting around. A beautiful place and fantastic scenery.
I still have this movie & song still chokes me up
Why does my heart hurt every time i hear this music, because my wife loved it so much and i never understood then but i do now. how i miss her so much, soon my love soon.
My Grandmother was my real mother. At least though my eyes. She was always there for me as my parents were so busy realizing that Dream. I’m more than 70 now, but I cherish all she taught, possession given and above all her wisdom. She never had any degree. For me, the highest! She never backed down to anyone. Spoke her mind. Even to the church. Here earthly end was spectacular for this small space.
This beautiful music. Will be played at. My funeral. When I join my husband At our favourite place
It will also be played at my funeral too.
My parents’ song.
My dad turns 90 tomorrow. I can’t stop thinking how grateful I am to have been raised by a man whose morals are so good. Gone are the days of gentlemen of old. They will be remembered, at least for me, in song.
Dad is still going strong but I dread the day he isn’t. He is my hero, and if it weren’t for God and Jesus, I’m convinced he, in my opinion is the greatest man alive.
Stupid covid, can’t hug him:(
Adam K I’m Christian. God bless you for preaching about Jesus.
A vaccine is not in the right hand nor on the forehead. Obama can not serve another term.
There have been many anti christs, and there will be more. “You will hear rumours of wars”. Do not be deceived. Do not fear.
Adam K the thing is, I’m not anti vaccine. I’m just mindful that this one has the “optional” chip.
Agreed though, we must be mindful of the mark of the beast. I must confess, I’m not a trump fan. I always thought Obama was a respectful and honest man. Opinions differ.
I feel with this in mind, it’s not so whom we expect, but what God shows us that will be the discerning factor. ❤️✝️
Allow your heart to sing with everyday that he is here with you... Wishing you both all the best, now and ever after. ❤️🙏
L Chung Beautiful, thank you ❤️
GOD BLESS YOUR DADDY.
This music is hauntingly beautiful. It transports you to different places. All beautiful. It's tranquil and peaceful what we need in this troubled time. 2020.
Yes
Feel the same way Valerie.
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL IT BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
me too
This music touches the soul and the heart....almost too beautiful to listen.....
I miss my Mama in heaven cause she knows the movie behind this song❤️😔
such a beautiful piece of music maybe i will meet my husband again somewhere in time again
Be assured you will.
Absolutely marvelous piece of music 😍
I recall when I worked in Ottawa a woman started sobbing uncontrollably at work; I couldn't understand because her Brother had lost 2 fingers in an accident.......I later was to find out he was a classical pianist.......how tragic!
我學鋼琴的,手指曾差點截肢,練到發痛,我現在都不痛了!但我之後在工廠當女工,挺樂此不疲的......
Music is everything and that stunning masterpiece is one powerful proof of it..❤❤
Well said !
I saw this movie as boy of 13, I got the heartbreak and I love the film 40 years later.
I sang this song when I was young and its as true then as it is today, it gives more each time I think of ubs and the real love I have been waiting for. at 80 I found it and its the same as when I was 17 Keep dreaming, its somewhere in time tks. - mae-may
"SOMEWHERE IN TIME" Just gorgeous, reminds me of years ago, I met my secret lover at the Grand Hotel, on northern Michigan’s Mackinac Island; it was like being in heaven, we were there just off season so it was quiet and peaceful. That love passed away and I am left with my memories. We met all over the world, but that place will remain in my mind as one of the most relaxing, lovely, sites we were ever sequestered in that beautiful 5-day weekend. We had champagne and appetizers on the terrace (with a view of the grounds and lake) before dining but had most of our meals sent to our suite and we only left it a few times, to dine and listen to the small music group, or to take the carriage ride. I'd take a horse-back ride on a gorgeous trail or a dip in the pool while my love handled some phone business. What an unforgettable memory that is, I just wish I could capture that time just once again, but alas, my memory will have to suffice. This music takes me back there in spirit so I shall return!! Thank you for posting.
Sweet ❤️
Your love was in a special place and time...cherish the memories...
@@sherrelhauhe7791 Thank you, I do cherish them, I'll never forget them!
It doesn’t get better than this, sad but lost in time, a classic. Love this music.

Sorry, I am French and my English is not perfect.
The same for my German. Funny enough my Italian is quite good.
As for the Chinese I am just a beginner. It is quite hard.
But I I don’t despair… maybe one day….🙏😀
Bye, bye.
Me kedo con la sensación q el mundo sigue siendo un lugar hermoso para vivir, siempre encontrarás personas con diferentes experiencias buenas o malas,tu decides a donde inclinar tus amistades, viva el amor x siempre
The pain of a lost love...it is so real...and oh how much it does hurt!
When you lose someone that you love so dearly it never racist from your heart because it runs through your blood through your veins directions to your heart all is left it's just memories sometimes we just got to let go and allow our hearts to love again ask God to take you directly to the special woman in your life that's going to become your wife turf God. that much
John Barry wrote this score whilst suffering a family bereavement. Its is a truely moving piece of music.
A timeless beautiful love hymn.
It captures my heart .

Thank you so very much Leonidas Tritsiniotis for posting "Somewhere in Time.," As humans we all have in our lives somewherein time experience this kind of "love journey." Am 78 yrs. old myself and I have loved this music. Also thanks to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and all of its performers who had helped to make this posting a reality for the world to enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!Aloha from Hawaii !!!!!!!!!!! I can listen to this music everyday and even tomorrow. Gratefully, Robert S.J. Hu May 9, 2020.

John Barry’s musical composition -- A Heavenly Passionate music of a lifetime. A typical Scorpio - you can feel the emotions in the music he conveys.

THIS MUSIC SOUNDS!!!
OMG!!!! ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE, EVOCATIVE,
MAGICAL + MISTERIOUS!!!
I SINCERELY TQ FOR YOUR
ATTENTION + TIME FOR UPLOADING THIS LOVELY MUSIC!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!! BEAUTIFUL ARRANGEMENT!!!
The truly wonderful thing about growing old is reliving all the touchingly beautiful experiences you have had throughout your life...some were passionate love affairs that lasted for years, others were fleeting moments, chance encounters, that burn in your memory every time you hear a song such as this. I loved the excitement of my youth, but I would not trade it for the depth of emotion I feel at this moment...True love endures, and that testifies to a life well lived...
Such wonderfully expressed....
That's the way I've felt & feel about the pet animals I've been lucky in life to have been able to call friends.
People can let you down but a true loving pet never will. My dog & cat would walk with me for hours in the Pine Barens in New Jersy without a leash. My dog made a black bear back away and leave.
Humans are ok, but I'll take animals over humans any day. If you are there for your animal bud, they will be there for you.
@@kalpataru47 Thank you, my friend!
I can totally relate to your remark here
@@elaineduffyluedtke482 Loss is the price we romantics are willing to pay for having truly loved. Those guarded individuals who are never completely vulnerable to another will never feel the rapture of being alive...
I Have instructed my children that this must be played at my funeral, It's just perfect, Sad i know, but it's what i want now
We must..in our time when go down to the grave...it shall be accompanied by your most cherish-song of your time....either a Song...by LED ZEP.....STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN....OR the Song of CRIS RHEA...entitled- ROAD TO HELL !!!!
My grandma died several years ago. On one of my last few visits, she would tell me how much she loved her husband and family and kept pestering me to get married fast. I was 28 then. She said she can't wait to get through it so that she can be reunited with her husband and everyone she loved. She was not afraid.
