Wow, this is hands down one of the most informative videos on the W209 MB CLK320. I recently bought a 04 CLK320 and so I'm super excited to do my own maintenance and DIYs. Could you please do more videos on your 05 CLK320, hopefully not much difference mechanically. Also, I'm glad you kept all the little hiccups you encountered, it helps to truly understand the procedure. I look forward to some of your videos! Excellent work!!
I have a 05 clk320 convertible I’ve had for awhile I just replaced the alternator on my own and the thermostat, first car I’ve ever worked on, also my first car, I’ve always came across a hiccup with anything I have to do on it but the alternator was the easiest, I’ve gotta replace brake rotors and brake pads this week so thank you for this video!
Awesome video, I'm trying to do the same to mine this week but I'm not sure whether I have the two piston or the one piston front calipers. I understand they require different types of pads and I don't want to order the wrong one...
Yes there is. Here in the USA the early clk320 cars came with 300x28 rotors. The later clk350 cars came with 320x28 rotors. The v8 cars clk500 and clk550 came with 345x30 rotors. The clk55 AMG CAME WITH 360x36 rotors. I’m pretty sure you can swap out your rotors brake calipers for the ones on the v8 cars and will bolt right in. However, I think the AMG brakes require changing out the front spindle/knuckle to fit.
@@MarcoCerqueira😄 not all, the last one turned about 3/4 of a turn and chewed the head. Drilled and turned it with screw extractor, it broke taking head of screw with it. I'll deal with that another time.

Thanks for the kind words
I’m convinced mechanics are worth every cent they charge
Not all are honest its sad man
Excellent video thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you. Great info
Thanks Marco very helpful , if you have any work regarding clk320 very much appreciated.

Yes I know the CLK500 uses Brembo style 4 piston. To be safe use your vin number when ordering parts.
Great video however I find the music annoying after a while
Gotta take that screw out o the disc b4 u remove caliper then it will hold it still 4 u
hello, nice video, is there any difference between 320 brake calipers and AMG?

I tried the mallet, release spray I tried heat but the discs stayed rigidly in place
Did the set screw come out okay?

Should of got someone to apply breaks and remove that screw on the disc first.
Hindsight is 20/20
Thank you for the video. Very comprehensive. But I reckon most viewers JUST WANT TO WATCH THE JOB DONE A - Z in ***10 minutes*** or less. Not epic!
Glad it was helpful!
