I understand Peter's thoughts to "go full steam" in military applications of AI and Tech... but to "Be more careful" in in the private sector; however the issue is that ALL MILITARY TECHNOLOGY eventually is used in the private sector. If its effective at its job (the basic premise of most military systems) then someone, somewhere in power will find a way to weaponize it against the people. Look at the police today - SWAT teams are just Spec Ops in the private sector. Revolvers are replaced by Berettas which replaced the M1911A and soon became the police sidearm of choice. Most cities now have some sort of military armored vehicle, made by Oshkosh or another Military provider, instead of the SWAT delivery vans of the 90s. M4 longarms are now standard issue in most police departments. Then look at the surveillance state - love or hate Edward Snowden, he showed us that the US government wasn't happy to just use military weapons on the US Citizens, but the vast information gathering designed to stop external non-citizen threats was actually pointed straight at us - no warrants, no privacy. US government AI will be used against its own citizens.
As stated in Mark 3:25; “A house divided against itself cannot stand” Abraham Lincoln quoted this phrase at the Republican National convention in 1858 with reference to the issue of Slavery. This same phrase can be used today in reference to Loyalty. America's house cannot continue to stand without a loyalty towards it. This seminar today exudes loyalty to the flag throughout all their discussions on present challenges facing America and the world with regards to China's growing influence. Unfortunately, today's Multi National Companies and other global citizens are loyal to their shareholders/banks or where they choose to roost; not their home nations. Continuing to reign in these diarchy's and others back towards the flag as so aptly demonstrated during the Trump Administration with Secretary Pompeo on point; must be continued. Yet; neither John King Fairbank, nor Richard Nixon ever got overly riled up over China's growing place in the Global world, from the concrete fact of it being on the political plane; the world's oldest surviving empire. ---------On June 5, 1989; George Bush Sr wrote in his diary.................I talked to Nixon at 8:00am, and he was saying, “don't disrupt the relationship. What's happened has been handled badly and is deplorable, but take a look at the long haul.” I told him I was not going to recall (Ambassador) Lilley, and he thought that was good. He doesn't think we should stop our trade (and should do) something symbolic, but we must have a good relationship in the long run...and that is what I will try to do while denouncing the violence and abuse of power...The reports from China are still crazy...There are rumors that “Li Peng has been shot,” and rumors the “Deng was dead.” All of this tells me to be cautious, and be calm.---------- While that was written 32 years ago during the Tiananmen Square events, today's seminar is also taking a prudently tempered assessment of where stands America today in light of China's present place in it. Future diplomatic exchanges are guaranteed to benefit all, as long as America's house stands firmly together, and only if “loyalty” forms the bedrock of it's foundation.
First example I've seen of Peter Thiel lying. Face reading is more invasive than the moves that people are making over here with radio mesh networks and the only marketable devices. I like it though, there's reasons for everything I guess, but this atmosphere doesn't feel very politically charismatic, if you catch my drift.

This is awesome interview because it's amusing to watch geriatric bureaucratic crooks with 19th century mentality questioning sentient creature from 21st century.
