It’s just funny to me seeing all the love for this version in the comments because In her own auto-biography she said she doesn’t think she did as well as John Lennon but I (and I think some people here agree) think she did much better
This is my favorite of the many ways she used her voice: clear, straightforward and powerful, not to mention so beautiful. Her Irish vowels and hard "r"s are precious. Changing John's "for sure" made such a gorgeous message more serious. Her soaring "love"s are just classic. John Lennon would have fucking LOVED this version. When all is said and done, I suspect John and Sinéad are my favorite songwriters and singers, and for her to merge them in this way is deeply emotional for me. Thank you for all that you wrote and how you improve the other best songwriters' songs, Sinéad.
