Love this spoilers add and option for others to avoid it. Makes you really enjoy what you will be buying and what is contained in the story.
I remember hearing about this when I was growing up but never actually read it
I vaguely remember a Wizard Magazine interview where Neal Adams said he left the book because Roy Thomas was going through a divorce at the time and it meant Neal had to take on more of a workload that he wasn’t able to commit to or something like that. I remember him also saying had he stayed on the book, he would have kept going with the story. I really don’t need this book but as usual you’re making me want it, lol.
A Gallery addition of Avengers Forever would be great and Avengers/Justice League.
Other Gallery addition that should be considered are
All Marvel /DC crossovers. But if not all then definitely
Superman vs Spider-Man first team up
Batman vs Hulk
X-Men Teen Titans
Superman vs Hulk art by Steve Rude
Conan Exodus And Other Tales. By Titan now as they have the rights. The art is so beautiful in this a masterpiece of comic book art
Here's my list of must reads I need to get: Avengers: Kree/Skrull War, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Avengers: Disassembled, Avengers/New Avengers by Brian Michael Bendis, Avengers/New Avengers by Jonathan Hickman, Avengers: the children's crusade, and Avengers vs X-Men.
Was thinking of getting this, but I think I might wait for the omni reprint - although I would LOVE for Marvel to put some attention to the Gallery Edition program: Longshot, God Loves Man Kills (reprint), Triumph and Torment, DD Born Again, DD Man Without Fear, etc.
They should do a Simonson FF gallery edition, such a good way of collecting shorter runs that don't suit an omni
Dang I've been wanting this for ages, but those page boarders are a huge turn off. Same reason I passed on Contest of Champions even though I wanted. Would much rather the space be blank white and maybe push the art closer to the page edges and further from the gutter.
Plus it is stupid looking.
Thanks for spotlighting this one. I had no idea it was on the horizon. I just bought the regular-sized trade paperback last year, but I might have to just bite the bullet, and get this gallery-edition. I still think it's remarkable that Adams, Palmer, and the Buscema brothers one after another were working on these issues with of course Roy Thomas and his dialogue that I simply adore. It's rare to have that surplus of talent working on a single series month to month.
I think the Imak paper stock and printing process tends to make the art look a little flatter compared with the other printers. They seem to have lifted their game on binding but the bleed thru is still a problem. Neal Adams’ art looks spectacular in oversized format. Hope this gallery edition doesn’t smell as much as the Spidey wedding album!

Love these Marvel gallery editions. I wish they would collect Steranko's Captain America asa Gallery Edition. Also looking forward to a certain city guardian edition.
Why the sidebars? There was absolutely no need this time, pages' proportion fits the new hardcover collection. Maybe resizing from whatever reproductions films or files they had available produced a noticeable loss in resolution? That's the only explanation I can find, but even that seems unlikely to me, for that didn't stop Marvel from reprinting MARVELS in that humongous Monster Size.
I think I will stick to my old Deluxe Hardcover edition.
Omar, you are a video-producing machine! Your Gallery/Treasury Editions shelf is in a chaotic order, but I don't hate it. I have all of these except Giant-Size X-Men, but I'm still thinking about getting it. As for this one, you're damn right I preordered it.

Anyway, worked out an arrangement with one comic book store over here and can get all three Gallery Edition books I'm interested in, this one, Warlock, and The Death of Captain Marvel, for a trade of four color trades I have, that are doubles to ones I already own, plus a little over 40 dollars. Quite nice, and looking forward to finally having all three !

When I discovered comic shops in the uk back in 81, the avengers special edition was my first exposure to the story, based on near Adams name being mention. At the same time, marvel was also doing Adam's x-men as a special.
Anyway, can't remember if I actually read those specials, but do have the dm onmi now and I ordered this as I belive near Adams art should be enjoyed like this and will sit with the thomas/Adams x-men gallery edition.

A definite pick-up. Now we need the Dark Phoenix Saga, Kraven's Last Hunt, the Demon Bear Saga, and Iron Man: Armor Wars in Gallery Edition format.

I can't help but think those margins could have been quite a bit thinner to allow for the art to be bigger... 🤔🤔
I probably should have watched this review before ordering this book. My copy arrived today and I immediately noticed that the blue trim on the edge of virtually every page pushes the art deep into the gutter of the book. The blue trim is totally unnecessary. The Prologue pages in the back don't have the blue trim, and the art is centered on the page, and looks so much nicer. The WOLVERINE WEAPON X Gallery Edition is the only other Gallery Edition I have, and there's no such trim in that one. Really frustrating, really disappointing in an otherwise beautifully produced book.
I know this is a very important story but I really didn’t like it. I remember my first reaction after reading it was “that’s it?”
It’s a nostalgia thing. I felt the same way when I first read the Kree Skrull War because I heard so much hype about it. This kind of major event, which referenced a decade of Marvel stories, was quite new in early 1970s.
You’re probably just tired from shooting 4 videos but I think a better comparison would be the movie Fantastic Voyage instead of JTTCOTE.
I believe you meant Ant Man going into Vision was like Fantastic Voyage not Journey to the Center of the Earth.
