This was incredible. Carla Bley is a giant. One of the greatest composers ever
R.I.P. Carla Bley. One of my favorite composers.
25 minutes in is right on the money and from then on I forgot time for a while
Really good! I really get going on how they get to work together and hearing their comments. Carla Bley has been on my radar since she collaborated with Nick Mason and Robert Wyatt on what would be realeased as "Nick Masons Fictitious Sports" in 1981. Remarkable album of quirky lyrics and fun songs!
It’s astonishing how simply beautiful is all she does
What an amazing view into this work and the artist behind it. Thank you so much for posting this. Great to hear Carla speak at such length. If you haven't heard the final recording, get it, and turn it up to the limits of your system! And credit to Alex, he shows some hesitancy here in rehearsal but that's all gone in the final recording.
Can hear hints of "Hotel Overture" sometimes.. love her
Superb.
Great song. Love the violin part and playing.
He's good, but I don't think he's swinging. Trying...
Ellingtonian. Carla is immortal.
Very nice !!
Thank you very much!
I’m the alto player 😎🎷
Superb raw back ground score of 28 minutes to scratch upto 180 minutes in mixings/editing studio for a 80s genre urban thrillar drama ! Pipers did a great job with drummers. Violin seemed looking some co artists till mid third. Chorus and playback would have made it's high pitch a high matched, if they were. It's completely done though. Music never ends and so does additions in it, so I said. I hope the efforts of musicians must have got more than thier expected lime by audiance after releasing it. Doing such maximizing using digital key sound controlers wasn't easy in 80s when retro was on trend in Bollywood but now taste and trend both have changed many times in shorter intervals and still it is on, visualising same as per LA can be different as I have no idea about that. Mostly action ,suspense, thriller, super fictitious Hollywood movies are released in theatres here. Global distributiors should allot every cross border circuits with every theme of main stream films in my opinion. People awaite Hollywood films in multiplexes here to be all round entertainers of them. For example Pursuit of Happiness wasn't a overseas material for distributors and wasn't showed but film was a master piece, Will Smith has not less fan following than Vin Desiel or JeLo here.
