I had a 64gb iPhone 12 Mini and I still never needed to delete apps or photos and now I have a 256gb iPhone 14 Pro which I regret not getting just 128gb because it’s fine for what I do on a phone.
I've had the s10 for 3.5 years (around that) with only 128 GB and I have used in that time 61GB. So as he said it depends on how you use your phone. In all this time I have only taken 128 pictures.
I wasn't "on a budget" when I bought my last iPhone (11 Pro) and I still went with 64 GB... and it STILL has 48 GB free. I store next to nothing on it. My computer is a different story...
@walldntv5076 same on my samsung but I want get iphon 12 do you think switching between android and apple should still be OK like if I run out space or get let's say 15 gigs left on iphone I guess I could just use my samsung to tale more photos and vids if I need too
64 is okay. I have thousands of pictures and almost a thousand songs I actually listen to with a decent amount of apps installed and I'm fine. Don't know why people think even 128gb isn't enough.
You definitely do not take videos or play games... just the media in messenger storages is enough to kill that 35gig (we both know the system takes up half of that)
@@autumnrose_tv @Autumn Rose each photo takes up 2-5mb. I shoot in heif and I disable the live crap. As for my songs they're in 128kbps quality which is more than enough as i can't really tell a difference if I listen to a 192 or 256 sample. But I can easily tell if it's 64kbps. Those also take up around 3mb each. I don't use icloud at all since I rather everything be backed up on my computer and I use icloud as a little cloud storage for other things.
I mean I run iPadOS on my work iPad, but I am curious. Is it easy to disable to live photo garbage? Does it not save the photos as live then (if so that is such a relief, you have no clue). If you don't mind me asking also, which phone do you have, and how much storage is taken up by the system and "other"?
Ive never passed 50 gb on iphone, so when it was time to upgrade ai decided to save my money and get a 64 gb iphone 12. I have all the apps I need, nearly 2000 photos onboard, a couple music albums, and Im at 25gb out of 64gb. For many people, 64gb is perfectly fine, especially if they dont play games.
Since I do a lot of videos, HELL NO! 128GB is cool, but I would have to do a lot of file compressing. That was the mistake I made with the 11 and 13 mini @ 128GB. Not compressing the files. I did it with the iPod and got it last a decent amount of time.
I am using 64 gb iphone xr for 3 years now , i pay for iCloud and i have more then 60 apps (incl. games) on my iphone, and ios 16, and i neever had issues with a storage
I’m planning to upgrade to the 64gb SE 3 because I’m currently using a 16gb iPhone 6. But really for me 64gb is plenty and the SE 3 for me just has a really good form factor.
If you’re phone is your only device, I’d recommend saving up for a phone with a minimum of 256gb storage, if not getting a phone with 512gb storage as you’ll have more than enough storage to last years. This only works if you have the budget for a phone with this much storage or can save up a bit more money though
@@choreli given that I’m currently using 140gb/256gb of my phone storage after 2 and a bit years of owning an iPhone, it’s safe to assume that 128gb was far too little Not only that, but apps are getting larger with every update, every software update increases the amount of storage your system takes up and you can’t clear cache on an iPhone, so that will continue to increase. People need to buy more storage than they think they need upfront if they don’t plan on upgrading for 4+ years to avoid encountering this issue
@@autumnrose_tv You can.. delete the old updates? Plus even if you don't, that's only like 8 gigabytes maximum per update. You still have the other 100 gigabytes to explain 😅... Like idk, I'm looking to switch from Android but this doesn't make any sense? Even with like thousands of photos, hours of videos and FLAC music locally stored I fail to grasp how you'd ever fully fill up 200 gigabytes in even four years. Unless you download large games and never delete them or something? Apps seem to take half the storage on iOS, plus there are really great apps that could do what four different apps would do for me here, at like half the storage of one. The only app that'd ever exceed 1 gig for me would be RUclips. I'd also instantly uninstall all the bloatware like apple music, garage band, pages, keynote, etc.
@@choreli I only have 100gb free bc I’ve binge watched every show and movie that I’ve been watching over my Easter break that I would typically watch on the bus going to college or going on holiday since data isn’t good where I live

I wanna get a iPhone XS Max, and 256gb is kinda out my budget… I have a iPad to play games on so all I’m gonna really do is take photos and videos, and get a few lightweight apps, will 64gb be enough for that
I’d recommend getting the 64 GB phone because I have 128 GB on my ipad and it lags for some reason but on my IPhone 13 Pro Max with 64 GB , the phone dosent lag
Question now is not 128 or 64GB. It's 256 or 512! Because good phones don't come with an SD card slot any more. I decided not to buy the S23. My 4 yr old Note 9 is sitting with 128 & 256gb, more than the base flagship $800 phone!! I don't want a heavy phone. SD cards weigh 2grams. Get a grip Samsung.
Is it possible that One UI takes a lot more storage than iOS? When I go to settings on my galaxy S20 FE it says that the system is taking 70gb. That's crazy. Now I'm thinking about switching to an iPhone 11 pro 64gb and I'm afraid. Unfortunately there's no 128gb version for the pro, so it's either 64gb or 256gb which is too much and I much more expensive in my country. :(
Ewwww, I know what you're talking about. Yeah, just factory wipe your device if storage space is why you're upgrading, OneUI "magically" starts eating up more and more of your storage space with "system" and "other". iPhone 11 pro is a great little doodad, you'll hate the display and love the cameras in comparison to what you're currently rocking. Just make sure to remember your security key for your Samsung account. That being said, the 11 pro has a tendency of being overpriced. Sometimes you can snag a 256gb model for under $350, but that's pretty uncommon. The 11 camera is almost the same minus the zoom lens, power is the same, battery life is better, 128 gigabytes is significantly more common, and subjectively I'd say even looks better. Some people absolutely hate the concept of a 350ppi 60hz LCD on a phone but personally I don't really care. If you can grab a 128gb iPhone 11 for like

256 is the standard now, I kinda regret I got 64 Gb iphone 11 pro qay back but thats what I can afford

If you are working guy not doing much with mobile ..it's enough ....but if you are young guy you want to differnt things ...64 not enough
