To be fair, Log Chute was there before Nickelodeon Universe. It used to be part of a theme park called Camp Snoopy before Nick bought the park and re-themed everything, but left Log Chute alone since it was so good.

I wanna know who the smoothbrain at Disney was who said "let's close the most iconic water ride in the world." Genius. And people wonder why Disney is in such a sorry state currently. Rant aside, Tokyo's Splash Mountain is thankfully still open, which is the best version. I will happily fly there just to experience it.

Even as a Minnesotan, I was surprised to see our MoA log flume ride on this list! It's actually the one ride that was left completely intact from the Knotts Camp Snoopy days! I honestly don't remember if I've ever actually ridden it, though. I had no idea that it had holiday overlays and I think that assists in its status as a hidden gem. Unfortunately the ride is pretty rarely open from what I've seen and heard, partly due to constant staffing shortages and being significantly less popular than basically every single other ride

chiapas topped splash mountain the second it was opened in 2014 🙏 It‘s not as tachy and platiscy as the other ones on this list, which easily makes it win top stop. It looks like it really is an expedition through old temple ruins and not like you‘re immediately going to be routed through a gift shop after you get off.

I remember riding the Timber Mountain Log Ride the year that it opened in 1969. I was 12 years old and it was the most amazing thing I'd ever done, seen, experienced, felt etc. So it is my automatic #1 pick. And incidentally, I am the kind who likes to get water misted, not poured on me. So I, personally, do not put any stock into that "rule". It might be fun on the ride, but it can be uncomfortable for the rest of the day. (Depending on the weather... which never cooperates.)

Weird thing about Log Chute: It was original opening day ride for back when Nickelodeon Universe was Camp Snoopy. It had several Boysenberry references (I found out about it from Poseidon's Entertainment's excellent aesthetic video essay series on theme park design in the 1990s, part 3: ruclips.net/video/ykJ-ClTT0jA/видео.htmlsi=s732-2kVchC7PmFC )

I said I’m not going to the comments until I’ve watched it to complain 😅. He said theming is in consideration, he said does it get you wet. I thought surely three rides in he is going to mention it. Then he did Valhalla, props to it that it is in the North West of England which rains 90% of the year and gets you the wettest of any ride I have been on. I always went on it just before I was leaving the park as had to get a warm shower after riding. It used to have a backwards drop as well but was removed in the refund as was too much to maintain

13:53 Seems like you never been to Chiapas personally.
It’s doesn’t have to be your best log flume but for real reasons, not just because you are judging by a POV and make up ‘arguments’ that aren’t going along with the physical reality. It’s also not my favorite, but as I said, have real reason, don’t make things up.
Nothing happening? 13:56 wait till you meet that statues on the left in person. And on the turntable? There is a moving track and a switch and there also enough happening around you, this whole attraction just rushes through.

It's just not an enjoyable experience unless you're sat on the right and at the front. Too much water, Breaks down far to often, and I've been in multiple capsizes since it's reopen, which even removed it's backwards section. Phantasia's Chiapas is the best water ride I've been on, and still works into the dead of winter, which is doubly fun (Rode it at Wintertraum 2023).

i have to say - ive only ridden the 2 european ones, but chiapas is a lot better than valhalla in my opinion.
valhalla DOES have better theming, and the lack of restraints certainly makes it exciting, BUT:
the loss of the backwards drop after the refurb is really sad AND chiapas is just so much more thrilling and still looks stunning. That drop contends with drops on hypercoasters for airtime. also you get SOAKED on both rides, but blackpool sometimes is just... a bit too cold for valhalla. not to mention valhalla's boats have a flooding problem so you have to watch where you place your feet

  • @kingdave747

Reason I disqualify Valhalla is... well its not a log, it's a boat! Otherwise Atlantis from Sea World, Jurassic Park/World, Frozen Ever After, and many more very good boat rides would be on this list but sadly... not a log flume. My vote (by description alone as Rip Saw is the only of these I've ridden) is Chiapas.

Dudley Do right has the most physically uncomfortable ride seats I have ever been in. Last time I went on the lap bar not only crushed my ribs it popped under neath them and was forcing itself up into it the entire ride. Dudley-Doo-Right is amazing! Arguably better than Splash but at least on par. Tiana re theme is going to be a dumpster fire - unfortunately I can’t get excited over a food coop ride.

Your absolutely mad to pick log chute as it’s obviously the worst, but interesting pick 😂. I’ve done Dudley do rights, Valhalla and Chiapas and I would say your thought about Chiapas getting boring isn’t the case as I’ve done it countless times and it still builds so much suspense cause of how wet you’ll get, but I would say Chiapas is my favourite. Disappointed there’s no good water rides at epic cause that would of probably be the best pick for new best flume, or Tokyo Disney could build a new best flume because every new ride they build has essentially been built on sandbox mode

So based on what you said in the the beginning I can say Fast and Furious: Supercharged is the best ride ever built. Don't worry everyone this is just a joke, obviously everyone knows it is the best ride. 😂
10:42 the background sounds like the music they play when you first enter the Shrek 4d theater I think.

So Journey to Atlantis is not a log flume, per se... But if it was, where would it rank?

      @AttractionIdeas  4 месяца назад

I respect Journey to Atlantis, and thanks to its theming and sizeable thrills, if it were a log flume it would definitely be in that elite conversation. But, given its dilapidated state I don't think it would crack the top 5.

@@AttractionIdeas Yeah... it could use some fresh paint. BTW, Valhalla looked amazing. If they ever build Universal Britain perhaps I can do both parks in 1 visit.

Is Valhalla technically a log flume though? It feels more like a boat ride to me. That that it isn’t many levels of awesome though! If it is more of a boat ride, then how about considering Jurassic World at Universal Hollywood?

Splash mountain at Tokyo Disneyland already was and is still the best flume in the world
